Post Autocrossing the 2002 season

Whelp even though the offseason is well underway for everyone both the dragracers and autocrossers, there are some things coming up I felt I'd share with everyone here regarding Autocrossing and the 2002 season.

While the new schedule(s) haven't been released yet, it looks like the new leadership (Crown at least) is trying to schedule several events at Arrowhead Lot A for next season. As as refresher, thats the 15 acre lot directly east of Royals Stadium.

For those of you who haven't run Arrowhead, bump your Woodlands speed by about 20%. High(er) horsepower rides really have a field day because of all the added real estate to cover. Many ricers tend to wheeze out in the straights.

2ndly...for those of you who'd like to learn a bit more car (and truck) control. Evolution Driving schools are bringing 2 events to the area in the spring. The first event will be held in Salina, KS, on April 20th & 21st. The 2 day event will be a Phase I and Phase II school. Each 'phase' is $200.00. Concerning the level of instruction you'll be getting, and compared to places like Bondurant and Skip Barber, etc., the price is dirt cheap. You learn in your own vehicle. At this point there are still spots available. The entire amount isn't due yet, but its close enough that approx 50% deposit is required.

More info on Evolution Driving Schools can be had at:

The Salina Region of the SCCA is holding the first one. Contact info is:

It's a good enough school that I'm attending and making a weekend of it; going down Friday afternoon.

Evolution will have the same Phase I & Phase II school in St. Louis on May 3 & 4 (Fri & Sat). Contact Info is:

Autocrossing is soo fast-paced anytime spent doing this will greatly enhance your ability to react in an emergency situation. Beyond that, you will know exactly where the limits of your vehicle are (ask Mike Gager--you really had it hanging out there guy!)

Ask Shane and Dave; they went through the timers 90 degrees sideways--but in compete control.
