That's about what mine looked like a year ago... mine was born on 11/01/00. Here are a few pics over the year. This first ones are from 9-11 weeks, and the rest are around 4-6 months. I am trying to find the more recent pictures....

Just out of curiosity, where is the breeder located? Are the pups AKC or GKC or nonregistered? American or German? I got lucky with mine, I got an excellent dog from a sh$tty breader. I would love to find a male puppy so she can have a companion. Let me know when they are getting weened, and if I can go take a peak at them before hand. Thanks

The parents are AKC registered and belong to a coworker who lives just outside Cameron. They were taken off the mother 4 days ago. I think there are a couple each male & female left (7 total). I will ask her tomorrow for you.

DRAT. I was only going to leave that photo up for about a day or so, but they deleted it at F150 world after only a few minutes...

OK! Changed sites...back in biz!

BTW Black SVT in KC, awesome pooch pics!

AWWWW, Roger he's so cute! I have a 5 yr old, she's a light weight, only 125 lbs. People have such a bad attitude with Rott's, think they are really bad dogs, I personally think it's all in how you raise them. Mine's name is Sadie May ex husband has custody of her until I can find a place to keep her. She's so loving, hasn't ever tried hurting anyone. There's only 2 downfalls to her....1, she is a slobbering lil you know what, can't stand too close or you'll get drool all over ya and 2, don't leave a pair of gloves laying on a stump and turn around to tie your shoes or something, next thing you know, she'll have them across the yard burying them then try to deterr you to another part of the yard so you don't find them. Good choice on the breed, I wish I could have mine. Ronda

Rhonda; Thanks, I couldn't agree more. One of the most loyal animals on the planet in my book. I agree about the training also. Right now I'm in the process of getting info on obedience classes. Hoo-Yah, they be slobberin' buckets, that's true, but there's brains and determination behind dem eyeballs!

I hope you find a way to get yours home...they're really easy to get attached to aren't they? BTW, thanks for the heads-up on the gloves &lt>!

Now all I have to do is decide upon a name for her! Any suggestions?

If you live near or in KC, I can recomend an excelent training course. As for the name, look through her paperwork and pick a name from either side of her family tree... that is how I got Heidi's name. I was going to name her Gretta, or something like that... something German, something sweet, etc. You could go with so many names, its hard to decide.

Ronda... 125 is a light weight? That is a healthy weight for a female. Mine is at 111 right now, which is pretty solid. 125 starts geting rough on their joints. I always figured mine would weigh a little more than she does, but it woul be a bit much. I try to keep her lean, because she grew fast, and she would limp all the time, I thought she hurt herself, but the vet said she was getting too big too fast, and her joints would be screwed up later. She was 24 lbs when I got her at 9 weeks, and 90 at 6 months, and she hasn't grown much since then, use to be +5lbs/week, now its +5lbs/45 days. Oh well.

They are the greatest dogs! It is a shame they get such a bad name from all the a$$holes that raise them wrong... I was at Shawnee Mission Park a couple weeks ago at the off leash park with my Rott and two friends that have Pit Bulls, and a little ****zu came up and attacked all of our dogs! I doubt you would ever hear of something like that on the news!

Nice Dogs! We have a 9-year old Dobie, Boston Terrier and a POS (don't tell my wife). Its a cross between a Pom and Chihuaha.

While on the subject of Dogs; has everyone seen the movie "Best of Show." The more I watch it the funnier it gets.

Yeah, any info on obedience classes would be appreciated. Thanks for the tip on naming.

****zu came up and attacked? Good thing the big dogs were trained properly--otherwise it was BAIT &lt>.

Jeff: nope haven't seen that movie yet.

Cool, I like Boston Terriers as well!

I have an 82lb boxer, hes cool as hell! I wouldn't mind having a rot, but I want an English or Bull Mastiff for my next dog! Maybe another boxer I don't know!

We have some good friends of the family who used to have 4 big rot males that where all in house dogs! The biggest was there dog Alex and he was around 170 something! He was masive, but solid as well! He could stand on his hind legs and look you in the face! His head was bigger than a humans as well!

Westwood Animal Clinic has an excellent training program (I think it is 913-362-2512, located at 47th and Rainbow). You want to be in Dennis' class... he has an excelent program (there is one other instructor, but she isn't as good). There are many programs, but the first one is really the only one you need. It is once a week, for 6 weeks, $90. This is one of the best ways to have a great dog... it teaches you how to teach your dog more than it teaches the dog. Also, the most important thing is that it helps socialize your pup, and teaches you how to let the pup know who to accept and who not to accept, so you have a protective dog and a lawsuit-conscious dog.

If you have never raised a Rottweiler, I strongly recomend reading "Rottweilers, A New Owner's Guide to Rottweilers," by Urs Ochsenbein. There are many good books out there, but this one is the best. You might be able to find it at Petco, if not, you should be able to find it at Borders.

I started Heidi in her puppy classes at 4 months of age, and she was the best behaved dog there. And if you want tips on successfully housebreaking the dog let me know... my dog hasn't had one accident since she was around 14 weeks old.

If you have had many dogs, a lot of this might be useless to you, but for me this was the key to training my Rott. Good luck, and I would love to see your puppy! That is one thing I did with Heidi, I had her around a lot of adult Rotts, and the other dog in the last picture I included above (the one on the left), was a good temperment teacher for Heidi.

Also, let me know about the male pups from that litter, if there are still some available, and how to contact the breeder.

Boxers are cool too. Grew up with several next door. I like all big dogs. Nothing against little dogs, but they're only good for one thing--wake the big dogs up &lt>

4 Rotts in the house? Wow, that's almost like a house full of teenage boys. Fun as you-know-what, but requires liberal use boilerplate on the walls & furniture!

Congrats, Roger on the new family member. As a friend of mine told me, "There are no bad dogs, just bad owners". How True! We have a Cairn Terrier and Pomeranian. My son calls the Pom "a cat in a dog's suit" - she's a **** for a lap and a rub. Kinda like a woman, huh?
