Welcome! I try to ride when I can. I don't really have my own snowmobile, but my dad owns an Arctic Cat dealership up in Escanaba. - Brian

mostly good thing about snowmobiles is that there really isn't many spead limits just gotta watch out for the DNR,, but i've never seen them cause too much trouble.

Snowmobiles are neat, I remember when I was a kid we had an Arctic Cat Pantera. Used to race it against the neighbor's Yamaha, we usually won. Anymore though, we don't get enough snow around here (Monroe Mi.) to justify having one. I know people like to take them up North though.

Cool

What's up Whitetoast? Welcome from a fellow snomobiler. So far pretty disappointed in this winter. I ride a '95 Ski-doo Mach 1, 144 studs, 10' carbides, A.D. Bovin rear suspension, etc., etc. She really moves! My throttle thumb is itching as I write this. I usually meet friends/family in Newberry and ride from there. Back in the day when I lived in Wisconsin we used to trailer to Rapid River and ride north towards Munising, great riding when there's snow. Is there such a thing as a snow dance?? Later, TS

Hey guys, speaking of snomobiling.... Do you know of any good places you can go for a weekend and rent some sleds? My GF has the itch to try snomobiling this winter and I think I would be a blast (last time I rode was about 4 years ago up in the mountains at Steamboat, CO it was awesome!!). She already has 2 jet skis, I dont know that she needs many more toys though........

There are many places to rent and ride sleds in he U.P. if you want to go that far north. I don't know which rental places are better than others, our dealership isn't big enough to support the rental business. The biggest problem you will run into is the first few weekends everyone who bought a new sled and many who haven't will be out making for very crowded trails. - Brian

Your right Bill. She likes going tot he track with me and even raced go-karts with us at the Kart 2 Kart event Sunday (it was fun, you guys should have come). Oh and she even helped me change the tires on the L at the track too! Yep I think shes a keeper!

Brian, do you know of any places in the lower part of the state to rent sleds? The UP is a bit of a drive for a weekend.

LightningSVT there are several places in Greyling Michigan where you can rent snowmobiles, that area is about the snowmobile capitol of michigan,, at least to my knowledge, you can get up to traverse city, a nice big buck brewery over there, franklin has some nice bars,, feels like your going to a biker bar when everyone is over there, only problem is renting them is very expensive i think, due to insurance reasons. i hope there's some snow this year though, i was planning a trip over new years, but looks like its a bust

Gitchi, it would be great to see you at the store, i'm still drving my L in the Winter maybe a good reason there's no snow i guess.

TommyS
your snowmobile sounds great ,,, lets race i've always wanted to go out and get a thundercat,, love the way they sound and how fast they are only problem is i always end up getting nothing bigger then 700 cc's cause i've found it hard to insure the the sleds for any reasonable price,, i mean i could go with no insurance, but i'm a nice guy, let everyone else ride it as long as i'm up north.
