Question Speed shops?

Just wondering if there are any good "local" speed shops out there? I know theres Ramchargers, but the name Overchargers is more appropriate. Just wondering, since Id rather give money to a local business than the "big boys" like Summit or Jegs (although they do have everything...). Just seems like for being the "Motor City" we dont have alot of speed shops or customizing shops!

Yeah, good question, I was kind of wondering the same thing. I'm tired of mail order, and Ramchargers dont have what i want half the time anyways, and would be expensive if they did. Gotta be someplace decent around here.

Yeah! I highly recommend Lane Automotive. Very comperable to Jeg's and Summit. And, they will match prices if you bring the catalog. Huge warehouse. I think they do mail order also. They are just off of I-94 at the Watervliet exit. Maybe a little far for drive from Detroit. www.laneautomotive.com
They also host a good show/cruise in during the summer that maybe the MiLOC should visit as a group.

thanks Bill. But they're a bit far away to just drop in on... I may give them a call when I start ordering all my parts in a month or so.

Chuck, they wouldn't mind if you drop in. LOL
When you call make sure you have a comparable price as they will match. They are usually fairly priced but be prepared especially if you are purchasing Ford Motorsports parts.

There's a place here on Fort St. in Wyandotte called National Machined Engine. Don't know much about them as I've never been inside their shop, but it's a big place.

Autozone will match the price of summit racing. They can get just about anything.
