Post auto detailing (OT, soliciting)

Just wondering if anyone needs a car or truck (or knows anyone who does) cleaned or detailed? Or a PC built or repaired?

Send me an email on an old pc rebuild!

What do you mean new? With 25,000 miles I would consider it hardly broke in!

Well #6 is about 10% lower comp than the rest of the cylinders, the rear main (still) leaks and I have another leak (I think the bask of the manifold at the blok. I figure if I have to tear it half way apart again anyway.... Might as well go for some more gusto. maybe .030 over, good rods/pistons, 10.5:1 (maybe 11:1) comp (still want to run 93 octane), new cam (spin it up to about 6000 rpm) and better vlave springs, plus a balance job and main girdle. Maybe a converter too. With all that 450hp should be no prob and 12's on motor would definitely be within reach.

But if anyone else is interested, just drop me an e-mail...

Yeah, my truck needs detailing.....bad!!!

Note on your engine buildup - if you are thinking stock displacement, but replacing rods and pistons, try this. Long connecting rods. Long story (no pun intended ), but benefits are increased torque, ability to handle higher compression without detonation issues, and less side loading on pistons/cylinders. There are no issues with turning high rpms with this. You can run a 6.5" rod in there and have no problems with the piston pins gettting into the oil rings, so no oiling issues! I'd highly recommend a longer rod, at least 10.5:1 compression (11:1 would not be out of the picture with the long rods and since you have aluminum heads.), and 30 thousanths overbore (for unshrouding of the valves and more airflow). Oh, and have a new cam whipped up for it all. This engine will be a horse if you did it like that.

Cost should not be as high as a stroker since you don't have to buy a crank and girdle kit. (Don't think you need a girdle if you are shifting at 6000rpm.) Also, IMHO, the beads you have are probably best suited for a 351 than something like a 393 or 408, anyway.

Match a converter to this and look out 12s...

Later,
