| Guest | To all fellow MiLOC (and some former) NLOC members, I am not sure how many of your regularly read the NLOC BBS? But many changes have taken place within the past week. Sal finally realizing that he is to busy to devote the proper attention to the club has agreed to give control over to a new "owner". His name is Jerry Hart. He is in his early 50's, semi-retired and has a team of individuals with him to assist him in the proper running of the NLOC. He seems to have great enthusiasm to make the NLOC into what it should/could become! I have spoken with Jerry personally via phone and have agreed to be the representative for Michigan for the NLOC. As you (old timer) guys will recall, we originally started as a chapter of the NLOC and now we are returning to those roots. To help give you a little more confidence, Jeff Sparkman has agreed to be the NLOC Vice President of Gen1 Lightnings. We all know what a good job Jeff did running the club, so that fact alone makes me feel 100% better about the direction of the NLOC. Things wont change over night and we are not giving up control of our club to the national organization, but we are re-affiliating ourselves with them as a chapter and as such hope to gain many benefits. Those will include increased membership (all new NLOC members will automatically be routed to their local chapters for participation, if they choose), more events, more exposure and technical coverage. Nationally this will include more sponsorship of racing classes, a broader Lightning presence and possibly a national, Lightning only event!! I know some of you may be leary to re-join the NLOC because of past leadership issues. But I believe that those issues have been resolved with the new chain of command that is already in place, with Jerry leading the way. I want you all to know that you can still be affiliated with the MiLOC without being a member of NLOC, or if you are a member of SVTOA, etc. But it is our sincere goal for every MiLOC to be a registered member of the NLOC. The only way to grow the NLOC is through enthusiasm, support and membership! The future is looking up, so please join (or stay with) us and join the NLOC as it grows and prospers! | Guest | I agree the past problems with the NLOC are done now. I refused to renew membership when i would read several stories of memerships being sent months ago, and no response to them. That is obviously a problem of the past. I so far am very happy with where i see the NLOC heading from where it has been the past year or so. I'm not bashing Sal, he's awesome, got the club rolling (wasnt easy), and very knowlegable, but the new prez is everywhere. Very visible, and motivated. That is great, thats whats got to start it going again to start. Now i see all the talk turning into action wich is better yet. Does this mean anything for Miloc? Could. The more visible the National club is, the more people may be directed towards Miloc. I've said it a hundred times before I'll say it again, there are huge gobs of Lightnings G1's and G2's in Michigan, but we really have a small group for as many trucks that are around here. How to get their attention? We should have a much bigger group. I wish I could find the answer. |

| Guest | I sent in my dues while the whole Sal thing was going on. I knew I wouldn't get anything in the mail for months, but I wanted the club discounts and to consider myself a part of the club that has the best Lightning site on the web. So I would be in favor of affiliating with the NLOC. - Brian ------------------ 94 Red Lightning SVT Build #1706 K-B Supercharger (7psi), BAP, and plug wires K&N Filter, 180* Thermostat, Diesel Tube Bassani x-pipe, Crane ps-91 coil and HI-6Tr Ign., Aeromotive FPR EEC-Tuner Waiting to be installed: level-ten shift kit Rancho Torque Arms 30lb. injectors My Other Toy: 78 Trans Am 400 w/nitrous |

| Guest | Well guys I have accepted the position as regional representative for the NLOC for Michigan, Indiana and Wisconsin. So while we are once again part of the NLOC, we are still the MiLOC and free to do things we see fit!! Keep those suggestions rolling! ------------------ Chuck P 1993#3951 (24k miles, mod'ed and lots of custom parts) NLOC#138 MiLOC#10 00 Focus ZX3 99 GT conv 91 GT (race/show car- in hibernation) |
