street races?

hello all,
Im new to Baton Rouge. Is there any legal or illegal racing going on? I used to frequent the Dallas, Ft. Worth & college station street racing scene a while back. I dont have anything capable of a good ET but love to watch and wish. Im am currently employed at a Ford dealer and must say I was impressed with the "L". Hope to get a 02 model.

State Capital Dragway isn't far from Baton Rouge. That's your best bet. Street racing is bad.

If you just want to check out the car and truck scene, go to Miss Goldies on Saturday night, it used to get loaded with hot rods when I lived down there (7 months ago).

Otherwise, check out www.sccola.org That's a can enthusiast group there in Baton Rouge and surrounding areas. they can tell you all the good stuff you're looking for, just watch out for a couple of the 'my **** doesn't stink' people.

Best of all, have fun in Baton Rouge! I sure miss living there!

Oh, also check out the Lakefront in New Orleans on the weekends. It gets packed with cars. Say hi to the gang for me

Where Y'at Thx,
State Capital is the place to go. Actually passed Port Allen across the river on Hwy 190. As far as a cruise there is the Outlet store. Lots of cars, But No Beer. There's an active Mustang club too. They can hook you up. Leave the street racin to the ricers.

Hey there cup, Trace was right, if ya wanna hang out with car people, go to Miss Goldies on Sat nites. There are also decent car shows around the Cortana mall area most Saturday afternoons.Goldies is on the corner of Florida Bvld and Flannery. The younger kids are kinda taking over, but they usually have a curfew, and us older folks hang around later. And yes Street Racing is very bad...hehe State Capital is ok, but No Problem Raceway http://noproblemraceway.com will be opening soon, and should be much better.
