Wheel Cleaner

I was rotating my tires and noticed the backside of the rim is super dirty, so I tried washing them, but I just can't get the black off. Any ideas?

Hello... I detail cars and for the back of wheels simple green diluted 50/50 with water spray it in and let it sit for a minute, and then use some sort of brush with soft bristles and if they isn't strong enough which is the problem I just ran into with my cts v wheels... They had some serious brake dust built up and I used simple green and steel wool and it worked perfectly except make sure the steel wool isn't too coarse.
