Exclamation Harnesses for Racing

Source is the SCCA,

The harness rule breaks down as follows. If only SFI certified, the harness expires on 12/31 two years after the date of manufacture. If FIA certified, the harness expires on 12/31 of the FIA expiration date. So, in the case of the G-Force GF-C5000 [...example...], the FIA certification expires 12/31/08 (or until used).

Everyone does know that the harness, like the helmet is a "one use" item. In other words, if the helmet or harness, is involved in a crash and you come out of it OK, they have served their purpose and it's time to get another one, right?

One more thing, the M/SA2005 helmets will be released by Snell in October of 2005. So no need to put off buying that helmet thinking that the new ratings will be out the end of this year.
