I was there at DG Hooters with my T-BIRD to see your Lightning and you were a NO SHOW..I saw LTNG's SVTBOB's 95WHITES machines there, but wait......NO KILLA. Do we get an explanation after all the hype you boosted to get us there and then YOU DON'T SHOW My hats off to the three guys that had the BALLS to show. Well, off to wax up my 5.0 ![]() [This message has been edited by drkshdw (edited 11-18-2001).] |

| Guest | I am a hooter girl in DG and was really looking forward to have a great bunch of guys and trucks here on saturday the 17th, I only got to see 3 trucks, I thought this was a large group? what happened? as for "rating" us girls, and calling us crack mom's I find that very inappropriate. Are you all beer guzzling gear heads who pay more attention to your trucks than your familys? next time you stage an event, at least be honest if your not showing up. ![]() [This message has been edited by ghosst (edited 11-18-2001).] |

| Guest | ghosst, Please accept my apology for the ignorant comments made by one very immature young boy. The ILLNESS chapter of the NLOC consists of a great group of guys and we've seen over 40 trucks attend some of our club races at Byron Dragway. To me it's not a club event unless our president ( Lightning Bob ) has something to do with it. The next ILLNESS function will be well organized and well attended and hopefully it will be at the DG Hooters location to make amends for this fiasco. Next time some dude starts making plans on our behalf and can't even get the date straight, don't bother wasting your time. ------------------ |

| Guest | Sorry guys, can't speak for anyone else but I broke again so I couldn't go. I guess I could have but I was stranded and stayed at my freinds house and that doubled the distance I had to travel to get there and I had to take care of stuff first. I'm not saying I'm comeing anywere anymore it jinxes me every time without fail. This is like the 4th gathering I missed in a row that I said I was coming to. |

| Guest | I think people need to chill out. Sometimes things don't go as people had planned. Don't take everything so personally. I personally was a go for Sunday but wasn't aware of the change to Saturday. No big deal... We'll get together in the future. And to the Hooter's girl. You have to be a little more understanding of the demographics involved in the lightning community, as well as the hooter girl community. Again, don't take it personally. We're guys, pigs, slobs, etc. |

| Guest | Joe, You know I wasn't being malicious towards you. I assumed ( wrongfully ) that it was another case of "the boy who cried wolf". We've had many ILLNESS races and Hooters meets this year that you didn't attend for one reason or another and I was dissapointed at that but after reading what happend to your girlfriend, trucks don't seem that relevant. Accept my apology for jumping the gun and go take care of business. Trucks are inanimate objects that can be easily replaced, people are not. My thoughts go out to her. Take care Joe. |

| Guest | I'm sorry for going off on you guys, Rob especially you know I love you man. this friday we went out to a club in the napperville area and everything was going good until she came up to me with her eyes completely blood shot and not looking very well. a few moments later she passed out right in front of me, I didn't know what else to do so I carred her outside and called 911. 10 minutes or so later the ambulance came and took her away. Thank GOD my friend who's an EMT was there to perform CPR because she wasn't responding and was barely breathing on her own. I took off and drove to the hospital as fast as I could getting pulled over doing well over 120mph (the cop said) but he was cool and he escorted me to the hospital as fast as he could. I was so freaked out driving there thinking about what might happen and all the things that would happen if she was dead when I got there. Selfich things that I don't know why I was thinking them, like I should have told her this and I should have done this and I should have protected her, but I didn't know anything even got slipped into her drink at all. I got to the hospital and couldn't see her just then so I waited and waited and waited for what seemed like an enternity. Finally the doctor came out and told me that she had been druged with some type of substance that was strong enough to knock out 5 people her size for a long time. They said she was lucky to still be alive, but she was still not awake and wasn't responding to anything. I got to sit there by her and it killed me to see her with all the tubes and chit and the monitors and the breathing thing to help her breath. I saw that and thought to myself that she would neve wake up again and that I did this. I was the one who wanted to go out and I was the one who didn't watch over her. He parents finally came and I left cause I couldn't bare to see her like that much more. I sat in the waiting room for two days straight waiting for her to wake up. Nothing. So I came to work this morning hope that I could drowned myself in paper work and stuff to get my mind off of it and I realized something. I love her. Me and her dated for a few months awhile back and we broke up and we just started hanging out for the past two weeks hoping something would happen and we could work it out. I just have so much fun with her even when I not doing anything at all. She's more of a friend then anything else, but I think thats what makes a relationship work so well. I've looked at other people relationships and thats the one thing in common with them all that work out. Friendship! So I called her mother up this afternoon and she came out of it today. She doesn't remeber anything of that night and she has even forgot some of the basic things about her own. But the doctor said she's going to be ok in a couple weeks. They said she's going to be in the hospital for the next week or so going through a detox to flush out the system, but she should be ok. I'm just glad that she's going to live and I'm still kinda nervous about what to say to her about the way I feel now. I got some thinking to do. Sorry about the venting guys. Maybe we could do the hooters meet some time again. I really was looking foward to meeting allot of you guys for the first time and to reunit with some of you guys again. Later JOE. ------------------ POWER SURGE PERFORMANCE RULES!!! |
