the only feature you lose is the auto loudness. It is the feature that turns the volume up or down as the background noise goes up or down.

I'll take it anyways.

its actually raised or lowered via a signal from the speedometer....the faster you go the louder it gets......

I just put an 05 six disc stereo/cd changer in my 01 Expedition. Cut out the same plastic piece in the dash and it was plug and play.

I just installed the 6-disk in dash radio from an 03 L into my 02 HD. The How-To was awesome and from start to finish it took me 35 minutes including reading the entire How-to thread.

I just have one suggestion on another tool that you guys might want to have handy when you do this.......a vacuum.
