any one interested in cowl hoods? i need info on best size 3, 4, 5, or 6 inch cowl hoods. price will be accordingly about $400 for any size but group buy may be cheaper. let me know.

i dont have any pics. one because i dont have a digital camera. two the hood is in the makings its still a prototype. shhhh..... its a secret!!! but i got to let my fellow lightning bros in on it. the shop that is making it made the hood that is on the granitellis (pro 5.0)new mustang race car. a 6 inch cowl hood. sweet looking.

sorry it took me so long to get back to you guys. the hood is made from a cervini's cowl hood just stretched.if you want a pic go to www.cervinis.com/9800f250and9701f150.html to see pics of the hood only in a three inch cowl. so whatever size we want to make the group buy, is what size it will be. that's why i need more info from more people and more interest or this probably wont happen.

I posted a topic on strecthing a glass hood a couple weeks ago and nobody really knew if you could or not it was somthing a buddy told me they could do but I didn't belive him but yeah I would be intrested in a 6 in cowl for the right price .later red99

well a cowl hood from cervinis is three inches, and so far i have interest in a three or four inch and a six. i need more interest from people to make this happen.

Is there something significant to these things?......or is it simply cosmetic?...If functional, and there is a power gain to offset the price of one of these hoods,...then great! Otherwise, I love the looks of my stock L.....just my $.02...sorry.

those are good questions. to the best of my knowledege it is functional i do not have the hood yet so i can not tell you for sure but on cervini's actual hood it is functional and i'm sure it help but how much i do not know. realistically, it probably just acts as a heat extractor unless, you have changed to a conical filter. then it will show some hp gains how much i do not know yet. but i will get back to you on it. as far as pictures the best i can do is send you to cervini's web site for a pic. because i do not have a digital camera. it will be the same thing unless you purchase a larger cowl size, which i still need an idea of what size everyone wants. there will be a three inch size and one other which ever everyone decides is the group size. i think the 5 or 6 is the way to go , but that's just my personal opinion.

i can check and see what the price will be painted. i dont think it will be much more unless its red. but i'm not a painter so i dont know for sure. i will check up on it today. but still need more people to be interested in the hood.
