Althought not strictly Lightning news, the last paragraph of the new SVT Enthusiast magazine article on the new Shelby GT500:

"This and other soon-to-be SVT products represent the tip of the proverbial under-the-surface iceberg. Look for more hot Mustang variations and (at last) an all-new SVT Lightning, among other exciting developments, relatively soon."

Bold emphasis is mine. Wonder what timeline they mean by "relatively soon"?

They're teasing us now . . . aaarrrrggghhhh!

In the lastest issue of SVT Enthusiast there is a blurb about the new products coming from SVT and it mentioned to be looking for the release of a Gen III Lightning in the future. Anyone else know abou this?

I didn't renew my membership after they announced the discontinuation of the Gen lll for 2006 model year. And it will stay that way untill the Gen lll is in the showrooms! Period......

yup yup... it would be great if they made one, but then again, all of us would have "The old Lightning" and the gen 1 guys would have "the older lightning.." im content with mine..

i hope its true. like pittsburghsvt said, im happy with my "older" Gen1, but wouldnt mind having a Gen3.
