Gen 3 L in MOTOR TREND...

I just saw the Aug. MT today, and they mention in passing that Ford is working on a new diesel engine, a new 6.2 V-8 engine, and 'an SVT truck' for 2008.

This goes along with AUTOWEEK a few weeks ago who said they saw a Ford truck mule being driven around Dearborn. Of course, the mule could be anything...but at least there's hope.

Yes it is and that is ONE of the reasons there has not been a Lightning, this was coming direct from SVT.

take what you want from my next statement, and I'm a "believe it when I see it" person, but my brother-in-law is a design engineer for Ford who has been working on the next edition Harley...anyways, he has been asked to work on a new svt truck that they are trying to debut in 2009. Whether or not they make that deadline is up in the air, but its just what he has been telling me since he knows i'm a muscle truck fanatic.

oh, and he said it isn't going to be called "Lightning"

The new challenger might easily become the same, with it's mid $20k pricetag....

If there was a new "Lightning", how many of you guys would trade in your trucks for the new one?

it depends how quick it is from the factory, and if it is mod friendly.

It might be a mid size ranger with the 6.2 Hurricane.

Wouldn't be trading in any of ours. Just add it to the stable if it's a worthwhile truck.
