It might be a good step, but Ford needs to beef it up and not just sell it as a regular F-150 w/ a bumper. If you look at this months "Truckin" magazine, there are a modded out F-150 and Explorer. I believe that the Explorer that is on the cover could be a step in the right direction in front end design for the new Lightning to come. | |

| The Flyin' Hawaiian | ^^^^Yep....... The coolest thing that got my attention about that Concept GEN3 was the Charge Air Cooler that used the Air Conditioning to cool the charge.........I like that idea ![]() Who knows if they will ever use that on a future application though ![]() Matt |

| Registered User | Well, since Cervini already plagerized the body mods (FPT cover last year), I agree that we won't see anything for another 3-4 years (IF). If it were only a couple of years out, we would have seen something by now. A lot of dealers are now doing their own fabricating now because the demand from ford enthusiasts still exist (Galpin has a S/C F150 GT ). Saleen and Roush have S/C trucks. It may be that Ford is just allowing the smaller guys mop up this market. I personally am very happy with my (moddable) Gen II. I read somewhere that the new 3V heads can only be programmed to handle 10#'s of boost. What would you rather have: a unique Lighning that you've built and supported, or a un-moddable (minimal) new version that looks just as cool, but performs like every other "Joes" truck? My .02 cents. |
