When I talked to SVT guys at SEMA 3 years ago, I was told, no new L on the current 2004+ frame. So Matt is right....nothing until 09 at the soonest.

The Edmunds article is very old and there has been an announced "new pickup coming" since then. Just not what, when, how much.

John

It might be a good step, but Ford needs to beef it up and not just sell it as a regular F-150 w/ a bumper.

If you look at this months "Truckin" magazine, there are a modded out F-150 and Explorer. I believe that the Explorer that is on the cover could be a step in the right direction in front end design for the new Lightning to come.

^^^^Yep.......

The coolest thing that got my attention about that Concept GEN3 was the Charge Air Cooler that used the Air Conditioning to cool the charge.........I like that idea

Who knows if they will ever use that on a future application though

Well, since Cervini already plagerized the body mods (FPT cover last year), I agree that we won't see anything for another 3-4 years (IF). If it were only a couple of years out, we would have seen something by now. A lot of dealers are now doing their own fabricating now because the demand from ford enthusiasts still exist (Galpin has a S/C F150 GT ). Saleen and Roush have S/C trucks.
It may be that Ford is just allowing the smaller guys mop up this market.
I personally am very happy with my (moddable) Gen II. I read somewhere that the new 3V heads can only be programmed to handle 10#'s of boost.
What would you rather have: a unique Lighning that you've built and supported, or a un-moddable (minimal) new version that looks just as cool, but performs like every other "Joes" truck?
My .02 cents.

Sounds right to me. Like Matt said, new body style for 2009, which would be released in mid-late 08.
