From my understanding from Steve Baur, (of MM&FF) my truck will grace the pages of the next issue. He shot it back in June and told me later that it would be going into the Truck mag as opposed to MM&FF itself. This is fine by me as I hope to see it grow! There will be a tech article of a personal friends Lightning in this issue as well.

For the folks that think this mag is all regurgitated <sp.> from MM&FF, your wrong. This is going to be a magazine of it's own. They just need some content.

I don't read mm&ff so if it is reprints, I don't really care. I would like to see the mag grow though. Not so much in size, but maybe frequency. If they need trucks for articles and tech and such, there is no shortage. I can gaurantee that.

Congrats Jason on the feature in FTP.

That was me venting on what it appeared to be, although your statement does make sense in that they need to build up some content. Maybe I can give 'em a little more leeway on this rather than being such a critic
I'll check out the next one, and enjoy the story on your truck and see where they've come with it. I started reading MM&FF back in 91, and have been with them ever since, and it didn't start off too well either, I just got spoiled...

Hopefully a few years from now we will have a magazine (FTP) that is equal in caliber to MM&FF. There is plenty of content for it. Not just in our trucks but all the Harley trucks and SD's. How many Super Dutys do you see running around that are badass? A ton. I look foward to the growth of the magazine! Hell, Ford makes ALOT more trucks than they do Mustangs! The odds are in our favor...lol

Well I wish they would have at least left the Whipple going on "the fridge" out of the MM&FF Sept issue and put it in the truck mag(or mabey it is). Hated having to buy that catalog of a magazine for one article. I do believe the time is ripe for this performance truck magazine as other publications have pretty much abandoned this niche for trucks that will barely fit under highway overpasses or can scrape it's a** on command. Keep up the good work FTP.

I agree. I don't like seeing the same articles in both magazines. I remember the first FTP was just about all old MM&FF articles. The latest one isn't that way so much. It will continue to improve!

It's in competent hands with Galimi at the helm.

Guys,

Thanks for the compliments on the magazine, the entire staff has been busting butt to get it done—often times we work on this late hours but I think the success of it shows. Doing this magazine is in addition to our regular workload is hard but it is all worth it knowing that you guys enjoy it.

We are set to release the next issue on newsstands, I think, September 6th. I have the new issue in my hands and it looks great. A few teasers—WFC 9 race coverage, a few interesting Lightnings that are fast and great looking—some of the guys are even on this message board, and a mix of Lightning, F-150, and Power Stroke tech.

As for the pick up stuff from MM&FF, I know some people don't like it but I think there are positives and negatives to running them. The positive is that they are neat stories and that not everyone has seen them. The negative is that some people have seen them before. For that I am sorry but I promise the magazine is not going to be stuffed with re-runs all though there might be some crossover between the two. In the new issue (Fall 2006) there are 15 stories in which 1 of them is a story that some of you have seen in Muslce Mustangs.

Enjoy!

Thanks Mike. Keep the mag coming. Get the stories, tech and feature trucks and pound the pavement for advertisers ! Convince the powers that be that it'll fly so you can get a little staff to work the mag. Then go bi monthly to test and then monthly 'cause it'll be REAL successful being it covers trucks which means more Lightning coverage than just the very occassional coverage MM&FF gives...

Hi all,

Primedia is sending Steve Baur to KCIR and LightningFest 4. Steve will cover the event for both Muscle Mustangs and Ford Performance Trucks.

So make sure that you all attend and maybe get your truck in one of the magazine articles!

I called the subscriber # posted by Jeff Thompson, but they didn't know anything about Ford Truck Perf magazine. So, how can I subscribe or get it - I can't find anybody locally that has it. If they're coming to Lfest, can they send or bring a stack of magazines with them? Just a thought . . .
