| Registered User | New Lightning????????? I’m new to the forum but interested in a Lightning or at least interested when the new house is completed in May. With Ford closing plants, laying off employees and dropping models I think we’ve seem that last of the Lightning’s. So what’s your opinion? Will Ford make a new Lightning or fact simular or is Ford pushing the Saleen S331 as the replacement. Looked at the info on the Saleen and it seems to be quite precise to me. Saw one on Ebay from a dealer in Florida were you can reserve one for 10K down on a total price of $56,990. May have to look into a used 2004 Lightning. In the mean time I’ll keep driving the Z06 |

BTW just cause Saleen is making a tuner truck does'nt mean the Gen 3 is dead. For instance Saleen, Roush, Steeda all made tuner stangs but Ford still kept making GT's and Cobras. |

Now if you had a cherry G1 or G2 and wanted a $100,000 fine. If no one wants it, not fine! For example me and my dad went to a Mopar show at Carlise PA (thats his thing) and some of the prices for stuff was crazy, $1200 for a set of tail lights $1000 for a rusted hood. Hey if I had to pay that much for a hood I'd make one from plywood first. but if someone wants to pay that price and they want NOS cause the aftermarket stuff is cheap or hard to find, well you know the deal. View this user's gallery iTrader: 0 / 0% | SVT (Ford) made over 30 thousand Lightning trucks. I think that's enough. If they keep making them the resale value would suck. So what if somone comes out with a more powerfull truck. Everybody knows the Lightning was king in it's day and modded Lightnings and stock Lightnings will still beat most new vehicles other companies put out today. Having a truck that has good resale value, is a collectors item, and can still hang with the all new trucks ( Dodge SRT10) is what's important to me. Who knows, 20 to 30 years from now you may see a '99 Lightning on Barrett Jackson going for $95,000. URBAN COWBOY '03 LIGHTNING '04 HAYABUSA Last edited by urban cowboy; 03-14-2006 at 01:03 AM.. |
