I already have a built motor but I am putting a ported eaton back on my truck... I was thinking about getting a designated fuel system(no fuel issues) and spraying the truck with a big shot (175-200... maybe more lol) HAs anyone else sprayed this much on a lightning? what kind of times did it run and how did it run? was it a ***** to tune need sum help here fellas!

I don't think anyone has really successfully run a big shot like you're looking at doing. I don't see why you couldn't with the proper hardware, and it looks like you're going to be doing that. I think the ported blower running 12 lbs max would be the way to go. Maybe even a little slower. I don't think spinning it fast is the way to go at all.

I've seen a KB 2.6 with a 175 shot. It made a lot of power. I think as long as it is tuned properly, and your setup is sufficient as far as fuel supply, I wouldn't see anything wrong with it. As far as more than a 175 shot, I don't really know. I'm not a big fan of nitrous. Getting back to the truck that I saw, he was never able to use the nitrous because he had too much power with the tires on the truck matched with the boost the engine produced.

"Built engine" does not mean you can spray big nitrous.

What are your ring end gaps?
What are your piston to wall clearances?
What are your rod and main bearing clearances?

These things matter when it comes to making big power with nitrous.

Been several people run larger shots.........

Ive ran up to a 200 on a nozzle, and only took my nitrous plate to a 150; the plate on the 150 was more potent than the nozzle on the 200.

If your wanting to run a 150+ shot look into a nitrous plate from this guy:

Trick Performance Products Turbo Kits Front Mount Intro-Kit

Tune......get the tune right on blower; pull a couple degrees of timing out run GOOD fuel. Then adjust the jetting on the nitrous system to finish up the tuning. Really simple actually.

thanks casey! so u would reccomend a plate for a 150+ shot... i will have to look into that. I planned on running a dedicated fuel system( kinda like the nitro dave setups) and I was gonna run it with sum c16.... i figured with a stock ported blower i could drive the truck around and have fun then when i wanna get serious... open up that bottle lol.

Yeah.........I dont like running much over 100~150 through a nozzle; they arnt very efficient and cylinder distribution could be an issue.

Dedicated fuel system for the nitrous is a good idea; run a regulator on it and you can use the FP to adjust the fuel sides "jetting"

Onlything I dont like, but some people do it is the race gas for the nitrous fuel and pump gas for the engine.......... the 2 fuels have different specific gravitys and do crazy things in the combustion chamber.

You have to get the exhaust out of the motor as well....I would run a 1.5" exhaust valve....16 to 20 degrees more exhaust duration....the biggest header tubes available (1 3/4") at least 3" exhaust with no cats.

And like Casey said you have to make sure the nitrous is getting to the cylinders evenly....you need to bypass the intercooler and go direct port.

This what I would do for a BIG shot.....as well as all of the other things mentioned.

I guess if you havnt tuned it then it hasnt been done right............

I remember a couple of guys running over a 300 shot from back in the day. I believe Sal (PSP) was running about a 350 shot when he snapped the crank back in like '01 or '02.
