| Registered User | The resurrection! Well it's been damn near 3 years since the accident, but it seems like it was always one thing or another getting in the way. Finally the Day(s) are here!!! You can't see from the single photo but the drivers rear took a hit also. The front "horns" where bent over but the rear only took a slight hit, mostly the bumper some of the internal bed fenders and the dr's side fiberglass was trashed. I didn't want to take the chance on straightening the stock frame so I started searching for a good frame. Figured I could find a flooded frame being as this was a year after Katrina/Rita. I ended up finding a standard F150 frame from what seemed to be a 2000 V6 that was slammed. Scored the frame for $500 which I thought was fair then started looking closer. It came with the Belltech C-notch, Drop Spindles and coils!! I stripped the frame down and had it blasted/primed and painted a Ceramic Satin black. This frame will outlast any of us....... if I can keep it off the guard rail!!! In the mean time I pulled the bed from the frame, split the bad inner panels out by drilling the spot welds. I was lucky as we had just bought a wrecked silver 02 for my FIL to power his 1950 F1. I also scored a bed with the passenger side wrecked locally by a member here. I pieced the bed together and it went to the paint and body guy last year. It took me a while but I decided to paint her a Audi Mugello blue color. I've never seen a True Blue in person but I think this blue has a little more "pop". I didn't really wanna go back with a stock color considering I stripped the truck down including every last bolt! I pulled the cab leaving everything inside intact. Good thing because that's been almost 2 years ago and there is no way I could have remembered where everything went. I did the bodywork on the 02 cab and will do a straight swap over.

The rest of the stuff is still at his place currently, not a problem as we've been busy the last year with the new house purchase. Just these past few weeks has the ball really been rolling. As I waited for the frame to come back from paint I installed the Comp stage III cams, springs and degreed them in the stock block. YES STOCK BLOCK, we'll see what happens. Camshafts, Springs and Degreeing Once the frame came back I swapped over the lower control arms with Clunk washers, Moog uppers, stock coils w/o the isolator and stock shocks. I swapped the chassis harness, brake lines and evaporator canister/tubes. I also swapped the fuel tank while upgrading the internal "Y" to SS. I cleaned/blasted or buffed most parts then primed and painted. I don't expect it to last forever but it makes the initial pics better and keeps the rust away a little better. (Ignore the paw prints, my English bulldogs and Dane always want to help, I cleaned them u before final paint) I had just installed Ruslow slotted and dimpled rotors with Hawk pads so those went back on but not before I dissassembled the stock calipers, blasted and painted them. They look so pretty freshly rebuilt!! I did learn what everyone meant by the calipers not fitting without some grinding on the spindle. Photo is a little blurry but I had to knock down the ears on the spindles for enough clearance. |

| Registered User | I took the time after the cam install to clean up the cover, pullies and brackets and hit them all with some paint. Again, you won't see much of it, but I'll know it's there.. haha It was fairly easy to move the motor around with my "coon a s s" engine lift! I love that tractor more than....... well lets leave it at that!! After a little back and forth I decided to try out the OBX headers. Not so much for power increase but assisting the stock block with the 6lb lower to survive by moving heat away from those last cylinders. I have the Dynatechs on my L swap'd Supercrew 4x4 and I have to say for near a third of the price I really like the OBX's!! After installing the Dynatechs on my Screw I'm convinced this is a much better way of installing headers!!!! 10 minutes max!!! ![]() Last edited by Brahmus; 09-18-2009 at 10:21 PM.. |

| Registered User | Here are a few shots of the C-notch and Western Chassis Hangers. Trying for a 2ish 4ish drop, final tweaking to come after the full build is done. Here is what the frame looked like at 5 this afternoon. I have got the motor back in and stared putting the Lower manifold/plugs (TR6 gapped at .034") COP and 50lb injectors along with a new alternator. More pics to follow in the next few days/weeks/months, I'll be damn if it'll be years anylonger!!! Haha... If you see something I've missed or incorrectly installed, let me know!!!! I have to get the FIL's truck tuned in the morning so this weekend is already shortened. |

| Registered User | Thanks for the compliments guys, it helps keep me motivated!!! We'll have to do Bryan! Didn't have much time this weekend as I had to bring my FIL's L swaped show truck (50' F1) to get tuned. That shot most of Saturday and most of today was spent figuring out why the intercooler pump wasn't working and pulling the fuel pump. The POS builder installed a Walbro 100 LPH pump, no wonder she was leaning out at 4000 rpms!! Though even that seems impressive for that little pump. Anyway.... Got the motor in the frame, did notice the passenger side header REALLY close to the frame, anyone else with the OBX's notice this? I meant to compare them to the dynatechs but didn't get a chance. I hate having to cover the cams and gears but covering them with these makes it a bit better!! Along with the valve covers I got the lower manifold cleaned up, lower PCV port pluged and painted with VHT wrinkle paint. I really like how the VHT came out, lets hope it holds up! I got time to clean and paint the midplate, thermostat housing and alternator strap, you can see the paint starting to wrinkle in this pic. Looks nice with the painted fuel rails, 50lb injectors and the COP cleaned up!! Last edited by Brahmus; 09-20-2009 at 09:39 PM.. |

| Registered User | She must have known I was cheating on her with my FIL's truck so she bit me towards the end of the day. Missed the rachet but caught the lower control arm. Not the first blood, but the first from the face on this build.. haha One last request, does anyone have a photo of the front of the motor showing how this wire mounts?
