Got an engine troll. Need help please.

This thing will not idle where its supposed to. Start-up is 1000 to 1100rpm and after a few minutes driving, its anywhere from 1400 to 2000rpm. Sometimes it comes back down to 1100rpm when sitting at a light. Heres what I have done so far:

1. Replaced boost bypass solenoid on the Whipple (nipple busted off creating vac leak)
2. Rechecked all vac lines (no leaks and routed correctly)
3. Replaced TPS sensor and adjusted to .998 volts (old sensor would not go higher than .943volts)

I am running out of ideas and Dante at DMP thinks its mechanical. Anyone have any ideas? I am tired of bugs and just want to drive it.

Yeah I just spoke with Dante Scott and he definitely thinks something is up mechanically. The nuetral and drive idle are set alot lower, and other parameters have been adjusted for the idle with the cams, etc. So it should be idling alot lower. He thinks a vacuum leak of unmetered air possibly? Sorry I didn't get back to your PM, but Dante said he already spoke with you. I will be calling you later today or tomorrow possibly to go over some datalogs over the phone. Stan

How would the motor know its in drive? There is just a clutch. Would there be just one idle setting? I have been over those vac lines and connections. I can't find any leaks.

I did unplug the new TPS while the motor was running just now and the motor didn't know the difference. No stalling, no hick-ups, nothing. Is that normal?

Have you tried disconnecting the battery? Sometimes that'll help because the ECU will have to relearn fuels trims etc.

No manual trans for me so no trans range sensor. I will ask Stan and Dante if they turned it off.

Stan, got your note I will log the data later today when I am done with work. This work crap is getting in the way of my hobbies.

I also asked him to check that Mike, and will be getting new logs from him to verify everything else looks correct later today. Stan

I got some weird numbers while data logging on the IAC integral value. The value was either 1045786.00 or 0 and was very intermitent. What should that number be? I am waiting on Stan to confirm the data logs before I ripping the Whipple off again.

I also replied on SvtP Scott. I dont think you need to rip the Whipple off yet Scott. Also that number should be close to 40% at idle. Is there a certain time I can call you tomorrow and trouble shoot with you over the phone. You'll need Mike or a second hand there too if you can just for a couple minutes, it can be anyone, nothing hard to do, one person sitting in the truck one under the hood briefly. Stan

I experienced that problem with a new SBTB that I recieved. Adjusted the screw and all was well.

I get the feeling somehow that I think these guys have covered this ground already though.

Just thought I'd update for Scott and say we think it is the IAC, as before after some more datalogging and checking some things mechanically. He went to go get a new one and he should have it on later today. Looks like the throttle stop was ok. Stan
