| Guest | Have a bone-stock '01 Lightning, thinking of just basic mods like a chip/MAF and maybe exhaust for better sound. Not familiar with the whole chip-programming process. Does it matter what chip/MAF combo you use, i.e should you install one before the other to tune one to the other? Any specific brands people have had good/bad experiences with? Any advice would be appreciated, this stuff is a little more complicated than my '67 Malibu. |

There are a couple of ways to go when it comes to exhaust, the Bassani cat back setup is a quality unit and has a wonderful sound to it, not to mention the polished tips really fill out the coutout. check out www.jjssvt and let me know if I can help. | Guest | I went with JDM's NLOC member special JDM Flip Chip JDM Cone Filter JDM Boost Bypass kit FMS Breather filter damn good price I also had a Magnaflow 12468 muffler put on. Unless you have endless amounts of cash to burn (for a full cat back like Borla, Bassani) the Magnaflow is a good cheap route that works. Sound is a lot better now, and I've asked several guys who put the full catbacks on what kind of power was gained, all have said minimal amounts, the stock exhaust is already efficient, just quiet. ------------------ Rick Red '01 L #3675 329 rwhp & 402 rwtq stock http://members.aol.com/txsvtlightning |
