| Guest | I am planning on buying an '02 L sometime soon and need some performance modding advice. It will be my only vehicle and I need reliability to be as good as possible. In other words no shift kits or any internal engine work. I am shooting for a mid 12 second time and noticed on a post that an '01 ran a 12.5 with a chip, filter, lower pulley, throttle body, and drag tires. Any advice on what and what not to do to the truck will be appreciated. Thanks... |

| Guest | My truck is a daily driver and it is also my second gen2 L. The first mod done to my 01 L was a Level 10 shift kit (193.7 miles on it). I noticed that my old 99 was sliding in to gear after I removed the chip. This is the parts I have come up with for the best bang for the buck and to get in to the mid 12s: Chip Filter Pulley 4# - 6# NGK BR7EF Plugs driveshaft loop Traction device (without you may break driveshaft) ET Drags With this combo you will be in the 12.5 or better range. You could put the throttle body on but I see more bang for the buck in other things like: Full length headers Torque converter After doing these things and you want to go faster start doing the smaller mods: Throttle body Electric fan ------------------ 2001 Silver Lightning JL Diablo Chip (Street Program) JL 4# lower pulley JL 12" powerstack filter Level 10 Shift Kit ET Streets Bed Rug Best Time:12.546 sec. @ 105.06mph |
