I have searched for this type of device myself, couldn't find one. I heard that in order for a device to scramble a signal, it (scrambler) has to emit a signal itself. For a device to emit a radio signal it has to be approved by the fcc, and the fcc will not approve a device that interfers with police equipment.

Keep us posted on what you find!

I have a Phazar. It is made by RMR the same company that makes the Phantom.
I think it works. I have never got a ticket since I have used it. That has been about three years. I have come across state troopers running radar right in front of me while doing 90mph in a 70. I slow down and they don't ticket me. I know they are running radar because my Valentine 1 will go off. I don't get a lot of advanced warning because they use low power Ka band only for a second, hopefully to conceal themselves against people such as me with radar detectors. I have been shot with radar many times in the last few few years doing up to 50 mph over the limit- that time the phazar didn't help because the trooper knew I was flying- and the only ticket I've got was in Mississippi the rental car I had didn't have two 12v power sources so When my Valentine went off I knew I was toast.
Many people say they don't work and they are a scam. You can believe them. After all I have no proof. The troopers that have shot me going 90 mph in a 70 might have liked me. Their radar guns may have malfunctioned when they shot me. They may have been half-way through their favorite donut and didn't want to waste their time. They may have been waiting for a faster guy. I hightly doubt it.
Another reason that makes me believe this thing works is it is banned in 5 states. That could be because it works or that those states believe it is a scam product. RMR will also pay a ticket for any reason if you get one during the first year of ownership. This is provided that it was for doing less than 15% over the speed limit.
It may or may not work, It is my opinion that it does.

well i know for a fact its not a scam. and there not scramblers there called jammers. i have the phantom II and it workss great. its worth it to get a radar/jammer together to save space. its kindof a big unit. its saved me a few times. once we were at a light and a cop was hitting me with radar. funny thing was he doesnt have a reading from any of the cars going past. so he starts looking around to see what the hell is up with his radar. he messed around with his radar for a couple of min. untill the light changed. any way i say if you like to go over the speed limit then its proly a good choice to buy one of these handy units. little expensive but worth the money you will save on insurance. plus if you get a ticket within one year of purchess they pay for it so not to bad of a deal. you can read all about it at www.radarjammers.com then decide for your self. sorry for the long post. later

Passive radar jammers are a scam--they do not effectively jam radar. However, active jammers do work, but they are illegal to own.

Hey quicker, when ya get that thing, let me know how it works with the La State Troopers. Are you from the B.R. Area? I would be interested to know if these things work on modern radar systems. I saw a show on discovery channel about these things, the guy who designs them was testing them against the latest police technology (1999 show i believe) and to the troopers disbelief it jammed laser, and radar from a long distance away from both the front and rear of his vehicle, i was impressed. I try not to speed too much, but with so much power in a daily driver, its hard to resist sometimes

Yes, I'm in B.R. I placed my order for a black '02 L Friday afternoon. Should have it by Christmas, if not, then the beginning of Jan.

I read a test about them in Australia, of all places, total scam. Of course, this was after I bought one (I have the Phazer, which is a Jammer/detector, took it to the electronics lab at work, engineer tells me THERE IS NO TRANSMITTER in the thing, and NO WAY it could effect a radar unit. However, he did explain how he could make......

I got a good lawyer, only way to get out of a ticket.
