Question Magnaflow Questions

After much research, I have decided to go ahead and order the 12468 and tips off the net and let Midas install it for me. Where is the best place to order the muffler from? As far as tips go, I want some that will match my chrome rims. Either chrome or something polished will do. What brand and where is the best place to order these? Also, if there is any thing else that I will need please let me know.

Thanks
Nick

Contact "BABolt" for your tips. His are polished stainless. Expensive but the look and quality cannot be beat.

SVT375 and anyone else that can help,

I went to the magnaflow website and could not find any tips like the ones that come on the '99 L. Please let me know because I just had a magnaflow 12468 installed and they put aluminum tips on that go straight out from the muffler and stick out the side about and inch. It will be this way until i can find tips like are on the L but are stainless steel or polished aluminum or I save enough money to buy BABolt's tips. I just do not have that much money anymore and really want the L to look like it did from the factory except I want the tips shiny not dull. thanks for any help by anyone that knows anything about this subject.

Two questions;
1. Is the Magnaflow 14468 a direct bolt-on replacement? Or do the tailpipes require modification/replacement?
2. Does anyone have the part number for the Magnaflow "Reactive" tips mentioned in this discussion?

The Magnaflow 14468 is not a direct bolt-in. The muffler is much smaller than the stock one, and the tail pipes will need to be modified. Make sure you have a decent exhaust shop do the work. Shop around and find which shop can make the smoothest bends. Mandrel bending is obviously the best, but not many shops can do that. From what I hear it is important to keep the pipes as smooth as possible on these trucks, even after the muffler. I have a 14468 and shopped around untill I found a shop that could bend smoothly and not crimp. I'm scheduled to have it installed next week. Can't wait to hear that music!

SOMEONE POST THE LINK TO THOSE "Reactive" TIPS.....I WANT 'EM!!!!

Thumbs up

Got my magnaflow 12468 installed yesterday.....It sounds awesome!! Not too loud, not too quiet... Its kinda quite during idle but downright screams when you take off....especially at WOT.
