Post SuperCrew Lightening

Just got 2001 SuperCrew, 5.4 triton. Runs pretty good, but could be faster. Which supercharger would be most beneficial to my truck.
Thanks

I read that Holley has started making a supercharger for the 5.4s. They claim "Lightning H.P. and torque". Give them a look.

Yeah I seen one online earlier for like $5 grand. Powerdynes or Paxtons aren't even that much, I checked out Eatons site, but didn't really see anything.
Thanks

The Holley setup CLAIMS as much as the Lightning. Past experience with aftermarket parts tells me that they rarely make the gains advertised. I can also testify that the L makes considerably more than advertised. In a truck you should realy try to use a roots blower instead of a centrifugal. The centrifugals need rpm to make boost, the roots can make boost at idle speed to you really get the low end that you are looking for.

Don't forget the Lightning tranny while you're at it. It should all be a package deal if you're going to do it. My friend put a SC on his Navigator and had tranny problems not that long thereafter. Nothing serious last I heard, but...

When I get my new supercrew I'm going to order a new lightning crate motor and install that. less then $4000.00 and all the lighitning performance. as for the trans, put a shift kit in there and there you go. thats the way to go.

Try a KENNY BELL Whipplecharger. He has all the parts-chips everything you need in a Roots-blower (screw type).Bolt on package.
KBs put out as much or more hp and torque then Holley for about $3,400.00.
Now if you really want BOOST- he has the BLOWZILLA that will put out up to 18lbs of boost with an inter-cooler and everything.

Unless something's changed, the Holley is a carburetor system and not for fuel injected vehicles.

RTKILLA- Where would I be able to order one of the crate engines for $4000? I'd be an idiot to spend more than that just for the SC. Is there a website or something that you know of?

DJANIMATE- Holley came out w/ a SC made for the 5.4 Tritons

Check out www.karkraft.com

They have many complete engines. Seem to be reasonably priced as well. I know they had complete '01 engines for sale at the Columbus All Ford Swap meet for $3,600.

They also had a Gen1 complete engine for $3,800.

Thanks!
