Post IS MY TRUCK SLOW?

THIS IS MY FIRST POST. BOUGHT THIS L NEW LAST THURS AT 12:30 AND HAD IT AT TEST AND TUNE BY 5:30 (WITH THE MUSTANG ON A TRAILER HOOKED TO THE BACK) RAN A BEST OF 9.13 AT 78.9 W/ A 60FT OF 2.14. IS THIS SLOW FOR A 140 MILE TRUCK? I HAVE SEEN TWO OTHER SUPPOSEDLY STOCK L'S AT MY LOCAL TRACK RUN 8.90. IT WON'T HARDLY SPIN THE TIRES ON THE STREET WITHOUT TORKING IT UP ON BOOST. JUST SEEKING SOME OPINIONS. THANKS.

That's about right. Wait till the motor loosens up, those times will drop. Mine ran an 8.85sec 1/8th in fall weather completely stock with about 10,000 miles on it.

Cool

That's almost identical to my first stock run.
1/8 mile = 9.12 @ 78.27
1/4 mile = 14.19 @ 96.20
60' = 2.088

8.85? I would love to see that, I am hoping for 8.70's when I get my chip and filter combo, maybe its because I live in Texas? I don't know but that would be a very good time.

Cooler weather and 5-10k miles will make a big difference.

Jeff,
I live in Texas also, Houston for that matter. Ran the time at Lonestar Raceway in Sealy, Tx. Right now the truck runs an 8.54 on that track. Can't wait until fall to run 12's in its current configuration.

Jeffhou, can I answer this? I just installed 4.10s in mine and I love them. The Truck pulls hard all the way to redline. I didnt notice a big difference in traction until I installed my Superchip. With the chip installed the truck fights for traction even if your rolling. When I pulled second the back end almost caught the front. I just kept saying oh my God, oh my God all the way home. When I tried from a dead stop, it blew the tires away all the way through to third. Just my opinion. I am going to the track this Friday if it doesnt rain. I will let you know how it does.

I got my truck in June of '99 and it ran a 14.6 1/4 mi ET new and stock. By November of that year with the cooler weather and some break-in miles, I was at 13.8
Some mods got me to 13.2

So ...
Time, Weather, and of course mods all make a difference
