Truck Trend.......phooey!

Has anyone picked up the June issue of Truck
Trend ? Tuner Truck comparison got me interested, but after reading the articles
I want to know who buys these things? A
$60,000 Dodge Quad Cab that ran a 15.9 quarter? Sure it handles great but can't you
get more bang for your buck? Or how about the
$30,000 Xtreme s-10 with a Vortech blower running a 15.04. Dodge R/T owners gotta love
that. Then there's the Thunder Silverado that
puts out a claimed 408 hp at the rear wheels
turning a 14.5 and costs $38,000. Bargains
galore. That whole article on the Thunder
truck is crap, does anyone here believe that
a STOCK 5.3 puts out 272 horsepower at the
rear wheels? This engine is rated at 285 at the flywheel. C'mon Truck Trend get your
heads out your asses. I have to admit that
the twin turbo Lingenfelter truck is very cool but $ 65,000.00 ?

Don't get me started!!! Awhile back Sport Truck Mag. Named it "SPORT TRUCK OF THE YEAR" a Dodge Dat. 4 DOOR Sports have always been 2 door 2 seater(may be 3) and the reason that they did it is look at the new company trucks they are driving. Hot Rod just did that piece on L vs Vette You'll puke when you see who won. Nice piece of work to get the Mag. sold but not a true cap. on cover. After the Sport truck art. I quite my subc.Let face it if they had named it truck of the year or Best 4 door truck I won't have been so upset but to name it Sport Truck no F*&^%&# way. Sport truck sould have been between Dodge SS/T, Chevy C/K SS Siler., GMC 2 door what ever and the Lightning, then you would have had a real comparision. Not the way they did it 4 dr vs 2dr vs long beds vs short beds vs mini beds see I told don't get me started

I hadn't read the mag. at my last post so I went and got one and as much as I hate to say it that Searing Silverado once they work out the bug with the sped limiter is going to give us L boys a run for are money. And talking of money the Mag. gave the wrong total fig. even so $31,000 is right at our cost for a L. All the rest that were posting better 1\4 mile times also cost $10,000 to $30,000 more than us. So that if put 7 to 10 grand in to our truck we would be able to smoke them. Even the Thunder Silverado that cost $38,000 the cost of a Corvette. I just wish the Mag. would put some hp and other numbers so us motorheads would have some info to bench race with till we see some on the road or track.
