tweecer and AKC0?

Yes, I've searched and checked the tweecer site. I know they list the AKC0 as being supported, but I want to ask someone who actually has used a tweecer with the AKC0 eec (FMS MA conversion). Does it work? Is there a base tune for the AKC0 that I can get and work from?
thanks, Vern

Hey Vern,

The twEECer does work with the AKC0 PCM. As far as getting the base tune, you pull it off the pcm through the twEECer. I can also provide you with the base tune if you need it for some reason.

Thanks, Brian, I may need some help if I get it. Haven't totally decided yet, gotta get the funds for it together. But also wanted to find out if anybody had done it on the AKC0. How's it going being the beta tester for it? ha.

I think they're all being sold thru resellers now. Since there are several selling them now, any suggestions as to who to get one thru?
Thanks, Brian, I think we may be talking in the near future.

Vern, if you get one let me know. I may be up for a Saturday road to trip to help you out. I'm not a whiz with it like Steve is but I have learned quite a bit in the last 10 months.

Jeff,

Are you using the old or new software? Also, could I send you some of my tunes and maybe you could help me get a better handle you this fuel/timing? I've talked w/ Steve a little (helped alot), but I think he is better with the SD than MA.

Raymond had set me up with a few tunes but now need to make some changes and don't how.

Terry, the only thing that I have really messed with thus far is speed density as well. Just recently I acquired Jeff Sparkman's old VEX1 setup. I already had it in the truck once but had the air meter wired up backwards so it didn't go very well. Saturday morning I plan to give it another shot with the plug for the meter repinned and see what happens. Your best bet for mass air stuff right now would probably be to get ahold of Jeff (FMOS Racing) or Matt (fordfreak95). I know Matt is using the FMS setup in his truck right now. I am using the new RT130 software with mine and I will certainly try to help you out if I can. However I am not a master tuner by any stretch of the imagination.

The AKCO shares alot of stuff with the 94/95 Mustang 5.0L ECMs. If what you are commanding in your base fuel table are not what you are seeing on your wide band then you need to tune the MAF transfer function. Timing is easier than fuel. There are tables in the AKCO that are of no use so you can input 55 in all the cells and the ECM will not use them. The ECM will always look at all timing values and use the lowest one. Tranny stuff is not bad but there are alot of Scalars that are for tranny functions that I have not a clue in hell what they are for. I know some stuff but..........I am fighting with idle knowledge right now. I need to know EVRYTHING that effects idle. My big thumpin roller cam I have now pulling a lowsy 11" of vacuum is testing my brain. Another real good AKCO guy on here is jwbronco (Josh).......I think he is alot better than I am.

I thought you were the guy that was trying to pin up an A9L on your own???

Yeah, well, that didn't go so well. Here lately I have found out some stuff about that setup that pretty much kept it from running. Some time in the future I may fix those issues and give it another shot but not right now. Just today I got Jeff's old VEX1 setup installed and running. Everything seems ok so far but the transfer function is definately going to take some work. What did you end up with on your transfer function Matt? You are using the 90mm LMAF as well right?

Jeff

I used the 90mm MAF transfer right in the Tweecer files. It is a tad rich all over but it works good.
I am getting a complete engine wiring harness out of a 1992 5.0L LX that the guy has converted to carb. So, I will have every thing but the A9L. I am going to give that a shot this winter. He is giving every thing connected to the 60pin. Fuses, relays, smog harness, injector harness........if it was connected to it......it's comming.

After I got everything running yesterday, I took it for a drive. Going down the highway it wants to run 11.5 a/f's and under while cruising. If you give it some throttle to accelerate it peg's the wideband at 10.0. For my situation, it looks like it may take quite a bit of work to get it right. Is there something else that I may need to look at that could effect this or am I just going to have to adjust the transfer function? This may not matter so much, but I am using 30# injectors with the high slope set at 30 and the low slope at 36. Is that where it should be?

No......... High slope is supposed to be 30.0 or 29.9518 and the low slope is suposed to be 32.1852. That is what I have in my scalars.

I know that the Low slope is suposed to be the actuall injector size times 1.2 but in my stock AKCO setting it is 30 high and 32 low.

I can help with using the AKCO. I don't have a lot of experiance but I think I have enough to fix a few problems I've found like transmission shifting. Also the base tables have horrible a/f ratio
