I would pay the $100 and not worry about it In fact.... that is what I am going to do! I'm not even going to think about going to an inspection station!

Vehicles of this vintage are already designed to handle 10% ethanol, and you are only bumping it up to 20%-25%. It wont hurt anything, but it will make it run leaner.. You could get a gallon of e85 ad put that in also.. Denatured alcohol is the same thing..

Will that make it pass ????

If I'm walking a little funny , it's because I just passed inspection To the tune of $140.00 + $7.00 for one gallon of useless M1 VP methonal. I can't say the guy didn't warn me He said if it failed I would have to pay for a reinspection . Next time ask the price I didn't ask thinking he would take care of me cause he knows my brother and one of the shop owners owns a low 10 second HD truck on big spray and he knows me. I ran my tank low say 4 gallons about 1 mile from the place I pull over and add the gallon the M1. I failed the NOX badly almost doubling the state limit. All other area's were fine. We let it cool down and I pull the spout and it passes fine the next time, should have done that first and saved $70.00.. Oh well live and learn!!! So for me the methonal didn't work
Mythbuster!!!!! that myth is crushed

Still don't listen. Chip said to pay the $100 but did you listen..... I don't even have to answer. Do you remember the steel crank? Bought it, sent it back, bought it again. Your like my boss. Spend a dollar to save a quarter.

Jamie Your like the pot calling thew kettle BLACK. Don't make me list the things you spent good money on just to sell and loose $$$$$$ AND BUY SOMETHING BETTER Jamie this is the same place I brought the truck to a couple years ago when I failed the first test we pulled the spout then it passed. $90 this time it was $70.00 a shot. I wasn't trying to pull any kind of move ,if the guy said if you fail the first test @ $70, I will have to charge you double to retest, I would have never agreed to try and pass with just the methonal >> Now I do have the Lucas oil break in additive in the motor with ZINK and it says on the website (Not good to use with cats) If that had any factor in the results I just thought it would be $90-$100 THAT'S ALL... I paid a extra $70 for 70 seconds on the rollers . I wasn't trying to cheap out here. I wanted to find out if throwing a gallon of M1 into the gas tank would help!!!

Paul, I never got the adaptive correction data on the 60's like I got from you on your 50's. Hence, the injector scaler values could be marginally off to make the difference.
