mass air pros and cons

what is the advantage to running mass over s/d? for a mildly stock truck?

there probably aren't any. It is just better for tuning when you add something like a big cam. other than a big cam, SD can be tuned just fine.

On a mostly stock truck, I would say the main the gains would be a couple of mpg, and maybe a better idle. Totally not worth the money spent.

On a very modded truck, I would say it would be easier to tune with and worth the money spent. While I do not have mass air, I do feel it would help with my lean tip in issue, and my cold start idle surge. I want to go this way in the future.

I chose M/A since I drive my truck through at least 3 seasons and felt I would need to change a Tweecer tune for the wide range of atmospheric conditions we see here in Northern Illinois; I've seen a 40 degree temperature range and/or a 30% range in humidity throughout a day here!

Plus, working 60-70 hours a week didn't give me enough time to get over the learning curve of the Tweecer.

an aftermarket mass air meter properly calibrated for your injectors and combo is a critical component of a mass air system. When set up that way you can get some great performance with just the kit itself

I guess the mass air trucks do get better gas mileage. My SD supercharged truck gets between 12-14 city and has gotten 18 on the highway before.

I guess so. If I drive conservatively I can get about 14 in the city and 18 on the highway. Usually though I will get around 12.5 in the city and 16 on the highway, but sometimes I gotta let the NOVI rip!
