Doing a burn out w/ a C6?

I've two or three diffrent ways to do a burn out with a C6. What is the correct way to heat the slicks? Start in 2nd then roll out in 3rd, start in 1st shift to 2nd then roll out in 3rd or what I have been doing start in 1st shift to 2nd then roll out.

What are you guys (C6) doing?

There was another thread about this not long ago with a LOT of discussion on it, so you may want to look that one up.

On the C6 the 2nd gear band has to stop the drum on the 1-2 shift which makes for a lot of wear-and-tear on the band during a burnout.

So, start in second, roll out in third. I've been really scorching the tires with 150+ mph tire speed roll-outs, but one of my goals for '07 is to find out exactly how much burnout I really need. I started that at LFest.

You can really see the difference between these two passes (and even the first one was tame compared to what I was doing at the WFC) -

At the WFC (ok, this wasn't my normal... it was a new set of slicks)-

Going good. Would be better if I could keep this tranny in my truck and out of Art Carr's shop.

Super nice burnout. Can't wait to see what my 2-3 burnout will look like.

Do you use a line lock?
