Question Removing the computer.(Easier way??)

Hello,
I just purchased a chip recently and I pulled the driver's kick panel for a quick peek to see how hard this was going to be to remove the computer. This thing is tucked way up under. Is there an easy way to remove this thing or am I in it for the long hall?? Any help would be great. Thanks Jeff.

remove the e-brake and you should be able to see the port that the chip plugs in to.

Remove the driver's wheel and take out the bolt's in the back half of the plastic fender liner and pull it foward then remove the harness conector from the computer and the retaining ring and it will slide right out.
I know it sounds bad but it will only take about 15 min and there is no other way to get the computer out so you can clean the J3 connector where the chip plugs in

Take GJLS's advice. Going through the wheel well opening is the easiest way to get the puter out. I went that way when I did my FMS mass air kit. Their instructions said go from under the dash, but that is nearly impossible.

Another vote for what Jerry said. Thats the best way to get the computer all the way out. What I did when I installed the EEC Tuner.

Cool

hold up a sec

if your just plugging in a chip, you dont need to pull the computer out! just pull the driver side kick panel, and E-brake assembly. you will see the port right behind the E-brake.

...no need for complete removal

Just did my chip last week and have to aggree that instead of taking off the wheel just take off the kick panel and then it's only 3 bolts I think 13mm and then just swing the e-brake assembly out and to the side on you will see the cover for the port that the chip plugs in to . All in all took me about 10 minutes with a ratchet an extension and a screwdriver. Well good luck either way that you do it.
