| Guest | Alright here we go. Sorry for such a long post 1. Speed Density vs. Mass Air what exactly are the differences...I thought Ive seen an explicit post on this but i cant seem to find it in the archives. 2. Speed Density+EEC Tuner vs. Mass Air Ive been doing alot of thinking lately and this christmas money is burning a hole in my pocket. How far can you go with EEC+SD before it would just be more profitable to get Mass Air. I know the EEC tuner would be cheaper, and I assume would allow you to perfect your setup when adding new mods. Just curious of what you Intelligent motor guru's think. 3. Mufflers We have just changed the exhaust back to dual exits in front of each wheel with no cats. The truck is loud volume wise...but it seems to lack any sort of tone. We have Purple hornies Glasspacks on there...and i used to like the way it sounds. Now I don't like it at all (except for the volume What mufflers are you guys running? I thought about getting the Warlocks but Im not sure of what they sound like. I'll get mufflers just as soon as I decide what i want...but I would like your imput on what has the best tone...Im looking for a rumble, volume doesnt matter the louder the better!------------------ Philip K. | Guest | 1)The speeddensity works off of preprogramed computer values for air/fuel, etc. The Mass Air computer adjusts itself to the air intake, etc. I"m sure Raymond or somebody can explain it alot better. 2)With the Speeddensity and EEC tuner you won't ever need the Mass Air. 3)I use Magnaflow myself. It gave my truck a very deep tone to it. Sounds really good. I've got the cats gutted so it's all straight flow thru. The Magnaflow 2.5" dual in/dual out is straight flow thru with X crossover in the center. Turndowns in front of axle. ------------------ Adam B. 1994 Red SVT Lightning #2019 A few more L pics |

| Guest | yup, mass air seems to be on the way out, unless you are running maxed out like a few guys. it just dosent seem worth the cash seeing as how for 300 bux you can have a tuner and the cheapest mass air is 700+ (and thats used prices)... ------------------ '93 Lightning -all the bolt-ons -Jacobs ignition -full exhaust -Level 10 tranny -TFS Stage II heads -Kenne Bell Blowzilla -357 Long-Rod on the brain... if i stop runnin, the evil little clowns will get me... |
