Question B&M Shift Pro question

A friend of mine with a '93L just got a B&M shift pro? for X-Mas. From what he described to me, it hooks into your computer/trans., and has 3 different settings on it (towing, etc)which can be changed. Can anyone describe to me what this mod does and whether it is worth doing? I guess it only costs around $30.

I'm guessing that it's similar to a shift kit and just alters the shift points, etc., but I've never heard of this exact name. Easy install? Anyone? What's the difference between this, and say, a B&M transpak, or a Level 10 shift kit for that matter?

Sounds like the electronic shift improver that B&M makes.I had one and took it out because the truck shifted like stock at wide open throttle but was firmed up at part throttle.I wouldn't recomend the electronic gizmo and others will probably chime in.I went with the B&M shift improver valve body kit for $29.95.One tip though, unless you like hard shifts,go with the RV/tow setting. With a loose convertor the shifts would soften up a little but with the stock convertor for normal driving I think the RV/tow setup would be best.I have no complaints with mine so far.

Exclamation

Hey, what's up Jeff? How's the shocks holding up? As far as that B&M shift improver that you bud has I would trash it(had a B&M something in my 92 351w/E4OD flairside that was a plug in deal, not much gain @ WOT) and get the Level 10 kit. Not hard to put in at all. Did mine in under an hour. If he doesn't have a tranny cooler now would be a good time to throw one in. And this L is a 93 so if it has alot of miles I wouldn't even bother screwin with the tranny.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the advice, guys. I was curious because I had never heard of that particular tranny mod before. And from the sound of it, I'll hold off, and when I'm ready I'll put in a level 10. Thanks again!

What's up Matt! The shocks are holding up great. Gotta do the back now though. And I'll probably go with something much stiffer come Spring. Get all your new parts installed? Will I see a 10sec. 95L on rte 6 this Spring?

LOL! 10 sec! No, but 13s ya. After all is said and done(feb. some time) I am going to go either Vortech or NOS! Don't know yet. But no all my parts are sitting in front of me in the PC room! The L is @ my grandma's for the winter under a cover. But I have been going over there to put on my flex-a-lite fans. The weather has been nice and dry/sunny! Yahooooo! No snow yet!
Shoot me an E mail if you need a hand with the rear shocks Jeff!
Later! Matt
