Question NEED HELP!! Truck starting to shift hard on the way home.

I was coming home tonight and my truck is shifting into gears harder than normal. Not headsnapping hard but much firmer than is ever has.I just put spider gears and side gears in about a week ago.Could this have anything to do with it?Or is it the tranny? The trans. is stock.

angler.1 your tranny has a fuse for electonic control, but i can't remember which one it is. i found this out when i pulled my stock radio out and some butchered wire shorted out and blew that fuse. makes sense huh. i had to go to the store to buy some fuses and almost broke my neck getting there.(better than a shift kit). hope your prob is that simple. good luck.-chris

IS your speedo working OK? If its acking stupid too, the speed sensor in the diff housing may be damaged, disconected or covered w/metal shavings. This can cause you trans to go into 'limp home mode' and it will shift very hard.

Question

So what if it starts to shift into 2nd fairly firmly but the tach and spedo work fine? All fuses are in good shape. It has 148k on the truck. Sometimes it can chirp when it shifts. all on the stock tranny.

Mine also did this every now and then....i disconnected my battery to reset everything and that made it go back to normal. FYI I changed my tranny fluid and filter and it hasn't done it since.
