hedman makes a very nice set of headers ,there elite header 14 ga tubing ,3\8 flanges mandrel bends and thermal coating for 255.00 they look real good the only down side is they r 1 1\2 tubing but unless you r running some very serious horsepower they should be fine. part #89278

Cool

Those are the only two unless you want to go custom. Custom = $$$

Have fun,

Hot Rod, can you get those Hedman Long tubes in ceramic coating? Doh, are they the same ones talked about previously in the post?

I think they are available in ceramic but not positive. You have to contact Hedman.

I have a set of Doug Thorley long tubes. They are a tri-y design with 1 5/8 opening to 2" and ending in 2 1/2 collectors. You can buy them from Summit for roughly 350.00 and that includes a lifetime warranty. And easy to install too

Cool

Are those Thorley headers set up with O2 bungs? And are they for any F-150 or the Lightning? Thanks for the info, Rod K.

hey rod. what did you have to modify to run those long tubes? any clearance problems? im guessing you had to make your own down pipes. they wont work with the stock cats right? what did you do about the oxygen sensor? sorry so many questions but in intrigued. paul

Cool

as a side note, you can get any set of headers ceramic coated. but, from what ive seen, its cheaper to buy 'em already coated from the manufacturer...

------------------
  • all the bolt-ons
  • full exhaust
  • Jacobs ignition
  • Level 10 tranny
  • TFS Stage II heads
  • Blowzilla...coming soon

if i stop runnin, the evil little clowns will get me...

Hey Paul, The headers have no clearance issues themselves. The factory exhaust is all history, as you said. I designed an exhaust very similar to a 5.0 Mustangs that straddles the tranny and crosses over under the tailshaft. It has an X pipe just to the passengers side of the tailshaft and then the duals continue back to dual mufflers and turndowns. Im very happy with the performance but the Ultra Flo muffers have a rattle sound that I dont like. Im going to try a pair of Hooker Aerochambers next. Hope this helps, Rod K.

Questions, quesions...

So am I reading this correctly that they offer them from 1-5/8" through 2" primaries? So I could spec an 1-3/4" or 1-7/8" if I wanted to? Is 2-1/2" the only collector size they offer? What gauge is the tubing, and are there alternate flanges available at the cylinder head side of things?

Ok, one more question. Were you being sarcastic when you said easy install? Just curious as to how they fit up...

HotRod,
If they don't have the bungs, the bungs are readily available elsewhere and installation should be as simple as a drill and a welder.

Thanks!

Wink

Oh, I get it now. 1-5/8" primaries, merging two cylinders into 2" pipes, then merging those two resulting 2" pipes into a 2-1/2" collector. Duh. Not awake this morning yet. But I guess I still wonder if they offer anything different? And also how they were to install...

Thanks!
