Question another question

when i bought my truck, the guy who owned it had put a racing computer in it. i was talking to one of my dad;'s freinds and they said that for streetabliity, the stock computer is the best. well, i spent 3 hours puting the damn thing in on thursday, finally got it in, buttoned it back up and tried to start it. well after some timing adjustments and some slich pressure on the gas pedal, it finally kicked over. but 4 or so cyclendars were out to lunch. what my question is is does the 80mm mass air sensor clash witht eh stock computer. if not, then what made it do this???
thanks, mike

Cool

You can't use the stock computer with the mass air set up.You have to disconnect the injector leads and use the stock ones and remove the mass air meter. I would suggest leaving the mass air computer in. If it's ford product the truck will run better. Later Alex

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it sounds like someone is blowing smoke at ya on this one. If the truck ran fine, it probably was the correct computer. All Ford computers will bolt up, but very few are calibrated the came or have the same wiring outputs- each was made for a specific application. If it was me, I'd yank that thing out RIGHT NOW before some sensors or actuators are damaged. It's really hard to say what that computer is trying to do without some further information.

So, here is the question for you:
What computer did you originally have, and what computer did you subsequently install? This can be found on the side of the computer case as a 4 digit code.
