| Guest | I had to replace the radiator so I went with the larger 2 1/2 inch dia. aluminum and dropped to a 180* thermo. and added a so called better flex fan. Now my truck runs around the that line before the "N" or a little higher, but not usually even getting to the N. Is this bad, should I put the 193* back in or for like the track is this low temp. good. At what temp. does the com. get out warm up mode (where it runs rich) I did'nt notice any power gain at all, if anything maybe a little sloppier actually. Could that be my problem? |

| Guest | According to the computer the switchover point is an ECT temp of 140 degrees. I tried a 160 degree t-stat for a while and that was definitely too cold, but I didn't have any problems with a 180 degree piece. ------------------ Later! Jeff S. | Guest | Where Y'at HardCore, You might want to try raising the temp to see if thats what is causing the problem. Try a piece of cardboard in front of the rad. That should add a little heat & move your temp up. If its still rich after the gauge moves up, your problem could be somewhere else. Hey Bobby, You're just too cool for La. | Guest | You probably have other problems. 180 should be OK. Check vacuum line to fuel bypass and also all other vacuum lines in cluster in back of throttle body. If nothing else works spray a little nitrous and get some use out of the extra fuel. HA HA. ------------------

| Guest | I'm in P.a., say nitrous sounds good, anbody know where I can get a N2O hookup free! Not this year, the new trans burnt all my money resourses. I'm going to put the 193* back in tomorrow and run it for a little while. Just to see, I doubt it will make any difference but it's an easy enough changover! Keep conversing on the subject and I'll post back with my dicoveries!!!! |
