Question dipstick blowby,Litng 1

I read in a later forum that you had a problem with oil blowing out your dipstick.I have a powerdyne and hooked it all up and got it running good, but i have blowby at the dipstick.what did you do to solve your problem?I put a cone filter in and took the air box out.maybe i should put the air box back in,and hook the oil filler tube line to the airbox.would this fix it.

Bill, what did you do with the vent line from the filler tube?
You cant plug this or you cant run it back to the throttle body either. I run the cone filter but kept the lower air box and it is tapped there. The only other thing you can do is tap it into the elbow (plastic) on the inlet side of the blower, anything else you will pressurize your crankcase and blow it out the dipstick. I guess you could get a vented oil filler cap too,and eliminate the vent hose all together but you could smell blow by gasses that way too.

Thumbs up

Bill, I found that after reading about someone else having this problem that not only did it lead to me solving mine but theirs as well. What you need to relieve the additional crank pressure is a nice breather cap on the oil fill tube that connects to the passenger side valve cover. After I had to pass smog and have a cap instead of a breather mine starting smoking bad (via oil comming up the dip stick and onto the headers). Good luck, Nat

Thats what I did put KN filter on valve cover and ran EGR valve to filter. But the thing that really stopped it was a piece of hose and two hose clamps where the dipstick tube goes.Takes longer to check oil LOL but it worked.
