| Guest | Around 3 months ago I floated a lifter after the tranny hit the passing gear on the freeway. A few weeks earlier I changed the oil(used 10w40). Someone told me the oil may have caused the lifter to float. I changed the oil again (this time w/10w30) and the problem went away for about 2 1/2 months. Yesterday, the same scenario applies, I hit the passing gear on the freeway and she's ticking again. Any suggestions??????????????? ------------------ 95 Lightning: K&N, B&M shift kit, my cat-back mysteriously disappeared, Bassani X-pipe coming soon... 99 Mustang GT w/the 35th Anniv. package and bazic bolt-onz... |

| Guest | You say it is happing when you go into third gear at high Rs under load. Sounds like detonation to me. Will it stop doing it after it shifts back into 4th. What is your timing at? What is the heat like when this was happing. If you are running more then 14* and and not 92oct then with a lot of heat you could as well be getting detonation. Pull some timing and see what happens. ------------------ Justin DiPalma NLOC # 555 Black 94 #437 14.53 @ 92.01 MPH 14* Timing ASP Pulleys |
