Dave,
the only things I really have different that I can remember is the Cal-Tracs, aluminum heads and the Precision Industries converter. Are you getting any wheel hop? If even the slightest sign of it I would get the Cal-Tracs. But if you want something a little cheaper to try here is what I suggest. This only works if your truckis lowered. You can install a set of Competition Engineering rear drag shocks. I'll post the part number at the end. The Precision Industries converter I have I'm sure played a major role in my ET's. I always ran 10 degrees of timing and my tire pressure was always 10-12 pounds in my ET streets. I always loaded up on the converter to about 2500-2800 rpms(a large tranny cooler is recommended for that). And most important is to do the best smokey burnout you can. Activating the N20 of the line is the only way to go. And of course get truck as light as possible. I had my light weight wheels, no tailgate, no spare and related brackets. As far as fuek pressure goes I believe I always had it around 40 psi. So thats the scoop and here is the part number C2755 from Competition Engineering. So thats the scoop.
Have a nice week, Ed Huerta

whoo hoo..lol thanks Ed. Now I have more stuff to try out. The truck is lowered, so I will try the shocks..are they direct replacements? or will I need to fabricate anything? Also, I will try 40psi fuel and 12 psi in the tires...and I'll ditch the tailgate for a few runs.

The truck is lightened, and I have very slight wheel hop off the line..I might get the cal tracs if the shocks don't cut it

Thanks again.

Thumbs up

Dave,
the only mods you will have to do is to put two washers on each side of the shock on the bottom mount to center the shock. Other than that they just bolt right in. Set them for maximun squat 70/30 or 50/50 I think for the rears. After selecting your setting make sure you keep the shock verticle and stick a screw driver through the bottom hole and stand on the screw driver and pump the shock twelve times. The directions are on the box.
Goodluck and belt out that 12.5 pass. Ed Huerta/Struckby
