MY MISTERY REAR ENDS?

I'V GOT A 93 L AND GET THE OL' ONE WHEEL ACTION ALL THE TIME..I JACKED THE REAR END UP AND SPUN THE WHEEL AND THE OTHER SPUN THE OP DIRECTION...? THIS TELLS BE WE ARE NOT LOOKING AT A POSI...? I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESION THE LIGHTNINGS CAME WITH POSI (LIMITED SLIP) REAR ENDS WHATS UP ? DO I HAVE A ODD BALL OR HAS SOME ONE SWITCHED REAR ENDS ON BE...I CHECKED THE TAG ON IT AND RAN THE CODE AND IT SAYS ITS NOT A POSI?

The window stickers on both Ls I've had,a 94& a 95, say 4:10 limited slip no charge.That is what I always heard,4:10 limited slip(traction lock) was standard on the Lightning.

POWERSTROKE Here - The Gen 1 L's have a "special Limited Edition" 4.10 Traction-Loc 8.8 rear end. They have a special heavy duty case that's finned on the lower face where the pinion goes into the case. Sounds like Your's is either really Toasted or more likely since the tag says it's an "Open Rear end" that it's been swapped out.

Look for a large number of fins on the casting of the center section - if they are not there than the whole rear has been swapped.
