Question

Do you think with all of the room in our trucks, that you could install them if you could plumb the tubing, with out any problems? It would be cool to have a turbo set for the street!

Oh yeah you could plumb them no problem..You might have to relocate the alternator and put the passenger side turbo where it is, but it is very doable. If they can fit two of them in a Mustang, I don't think our truck will be any trouble.

Question

Does anybody know if there is a company out there that produces a kit for the Lightnings? Single or duel turbo? If so, thats what I might do for my next truck, instead of a supercharger!!!

Blitzkreig, you must have been reading my mind! I've been toying with the possibility of adding a twin-turbo setup to my '95. Turbos are harder to set up than a supercharger, but will produce a LOT more power in the end. Think about it, with a supercharger, for every 100hp you gain, you are losing 30hp of that because of the effort required to turn the belt. With a turbo setup, you only lose 10-15hp out of the 100 you gain, as there is less effort required to turn the turbine. If I do it, I may have to go custom for the plumbing, because there are no kits for our trucks. Trust me, if you get these in, and they work as well as I think they are going to, then think of this: A turbo'd 351 in a lightning? That truck will be a friggin' MONSTER!!!

yes, there are a couple of companies that make a turbo kit for the Lightning.
CarTech has all the jigs to make a turbo set up, but do not advertise it as a kit.
Mike Arnett also makes a turbo setup for the Gen 1.
if you check back in the archives, there are a couple of turbo topics, one in particular is called "turbo vs supercharger" I posted some pics of Arnetts setup on that one.

I went back a little bit in time and found that "turbo92" was talking about designing a kit in late march of last year. The company he worked for said that the price was supposed to be around $3500-$3600 for what sounded like a nice kit. The topic was 'turbosystem' if anyone is interested.
