| Guest | I have an '80 Mercury Capri that I have fitted with an '83 block (eagle rods, trw forged pistons-fly cut by dss-to fit the trick flow heads, edelbrock performer rpm intake, and a holley dual-line 750, lunati 292/.512" flat tappet cam, headders, 2 1/2" exhaust, etc.), a tremec 3550 trans, and a fms 4.10 gear, msd ignition. My question is this what type of nitrous system do you guys (and gals) recommend? It seems that we have our share of "junkies" on this board, so I am looking for your knowledge. I don't want to run like Billy Glidden (that would be cool) I am however looking at getting into the mid to low 12s, I am looking at a system that can be progressively upgraded--say from 75 to 200 horse. Also what are your views on "WET" systems versus "DRY" set ups? Thanks alot fellow members. ------------------ White Lightning #2252//'80 Mercury Capri-306-Tremec 13.20@107MPH//'87 f-350 SRW-4 Door-6.9 diesel-4 WD-4 Speed//Wife's '99 Cougar. |

| Guest | Chris well here you go i dont belive there is a company that makes a dry system to go under a carb set up so you would have to go with a wet kit and i would say to go with a NOS kit cheater seires set up and you can get this ina single stage or two stage set up single goes from 100 to 300 hp i belive and the two stage set up which i have on my car and i run 100 hp on the first stage and 250 on the second stage might go up one day where i get it all back together but who knows ------------------ Bobby 95 Lightning Red #233 14.65 @90 MPH Born on 01\03\95 86 Mustang Coupe 351c 93 Convertible NLOC #500 Ford Performance Association Member |

| Guest | Bobby's right. There is no way to run a "dry" system with a carb. There are a few choices out there for you, NOS and Nitrous Express. Both make plate systems or if you want to go crazy, they both make direct port injected systems also. I never ran nitrous on my Mustang, I relied on high RPMs and big cubic inches, so I don't know what system is better. You cna check out their websites, and see if which system you like best. Nitrous Express NOS The founder of NX is down in Houston, and he is always happy to give his opinion, his web site is:.Nitrous Warehouse Good luck ------------------ Keep it safe... | Guest | I've heard alot of good things about Nitrous Express..But you can always go with the tried and true NOS kits. Decide on the HP you think your motor can handle/you want, and go from there. Pretty much anything will be reliable if you tune the car right. NOS has better factory support at races though. Alot more people out there with NOS kits also, so if you ever have problems there are bound to be people running the same setup(or similar) that you are. ------------------ Curt '93 Red Lightning #4232 http://www.geocities.com/lightning_struck93/index.html |

| Guest | Thanks guys, that is why I have to come to this site at least once a day, everyone here is extremely helpful. Hey Traumapirate, what kind of cubic inches are you talking about (how many, what is the base block)? ------------------ White Lightning #2252//'80 Mercury Capri-306-Tremec 13.20@107MPH//'87 f-350 SRW-4 Door-6.9 diesel-4 WD-4 Speed//Wife's '99 Cougar. |
