Post Accessories

Hi, I was wondering what kind of accessories you guys have on your Lightnings. I have a 94L with almost $2000 worth. Here's what I have, a bed liner, grab rails, slitted tail light covers, wood grain interior trim, centre jump seat conv.(modified),running boards(door),tonnue hard top cover, nose bra(hood only), and last but not least a K&N filter. It seems like the fun never stops far as adding on.

When I bought mine it had a rubber bed mat & snap type soft tonnue(hate it, snaps break). I've since installed a Ultra Lite 2 1/16" trans. temp. guage in dash next to fog light switch. Custom center counsel/ speaker box(pair of 8" kickers mounted in behind seats & amp on floor under heater controls hidden by box, enlarged storage bin, adj. cup holders, area for 6 pack cooler & 12 disc changer (can't afford changer yet)reused lid from old counsel & tray), CD player, 3-way speakers in doors and pillars, wired radar detector to fuse box and mounted above mirror, remote starter(for those cold ND mornings), AVS headlight covers, K&N drop in filter, custom cold air induction, and a pair of 2-chamber Flowmaster mufflers w/dual 2 1/2" pipe rear exit w/ 3 1/2" x 24" chrome tips, tail pipes cross over @ the axle to keep left & right pipe about same length. I'm also in the process of painting the suspension. This is all I can think of right now.

When I bought the truck it had a rubber bed mat & a snap tonnue cover(I hate it- snaps break, takes forever to put back on).

Since then I've added:
-Ultra Lite trans temp guage 2 1/16" next to fog switch
-cd player, 3-way speakers(all 4)
-custom center counsel/speaker box(8" sub behind ea. seat, place for 6 pack cooler & cd changer between seat backs, larger/taller storage bin - reused old lid & tray, covered area for amp under ash tray w/ adj. cup holders above
-remote starter(ND is cold in winter)
-wired in radar detector(fuse in fuse box, detector above mirror)
-Auto Vent Shade smoked headlight covers($20 cheaper than Lund)
-different driving lights
-coil over rear shocks(tired of hitch reciever hitting ground-lifted rear about 1")
-drop in K&N filter w/ custom cold air induction)
-Flowmaster 2 chamber mufflers, 2 1/2" tail pipes - rear exit either side of hitch(left header exits on right side, right header exits on left side - keeping pipes almost same length) w/ 3 1/2 "x 24" chrome tips
-rubber distributor cap boot from '87 Merc. Cougar

I am going to install a hidden hitch and Downs or Summit rear pan to get that heavy bumper off the back. Then I will take out the over-rail (yuck) bedliner out and have a Line-X sprayed in. I used to have a Tekstyle soft tonneau on the Ranger and I will probably buy one for this truck. Headlight and tail light blackouts will also be ordered. I will also order up the Downs center jump seat. Everything else will probably be just performance mods. Oh, yeah. I also have an Alpine CD head unit with Boston Acoustics speakers in factory holes. I'll add a small subwoofer soon, too.

Laurence,

I saw that you listed a Fasback flush bed cover. Could you describe it for me? If it is anything like I am picturing in my mind, I could be interested in one of those. Also, is is watertight? Thanks

KL,
Here's a not so good pic (only one I hvae showing it). It does get alot of looks since its flush. It looks real good but if I were buying again I'd go with another brand. The one reason I bought the Fastback was cause it is clamp on and was the only-clamp on on the market that I could find. It matches the black perfect except the seal on the outside fades and I've tried everything on it. It's very light, about 80lbs. It does leak at the hinge however. I was told when I bought it there's not a flushmount cover that doesn't. Others may leak less, I don't know.
If you're interested in getting one and don't mind drilling holes in the bed I'd look into a company called Gemtop, it may be more, but its lockable, the seal is on the inside and not seen, and comes painted to match.

Hey, you should have went with a Snuglid Tonnue Cover(fastback). It's much sturdier and leak free. It's also a clamp-on. I bought it recently from a local truck store. It costed $650. Pretty high but, it's well worth it. Black 94 -#348

Cool

Thanks Laurence,

It sure looks nice! I can see one of those in the future on my truck. As for a tonneau cover, I already have one of those and don't really like it that well.

Thanks Again!

I have Hard Tonneu cover, Carpeted dash cover, bedliner, driving lights were replaced with PIAA fog lights, Used to have blackouts but one got broken and I haven't had a chance to replace them.
As for my stereo. I have 2 Rockford Fosgate 6" midrange speakers(Which it was nice to find out that Rockford Fosgate had these, No grinding nessecary) for the doors, 2 Rockford Fosgate 6 1/2" midrange Speakers in the rear speaker location and a 1" tweeter with each. They are powered by a soundstream Granite 180.6. I have 1 12" Pheonix Gold XMAX12 Subwoofer in a sealed encloser powered by a Pheonix Gold XS2300. Both amps have there signal coming from a Pheonix Gold Xi215 Crossover/EQ. The Crossover/Eq gets its signal from the Pioneer Tape player, Cd-changer combo. All wireing and distribution blocks are Rockford Fosgate. My circuit breaker and fuse holder is Pheonix Gold. The only thing done to the engine is the timing was increased.

I know should have beefed up the truck, but were I would like to drag race for the fun of it(Haven't yet). I love to DB Drag Race also(If you don't know what that is its a form of car stereo Competition).
