Question FL1A vs 820S

I have a 95. Can anyone explain the filter change. I know it has something to do with a silicone seal?? Is there any reason I can't use my leftover Fram PH8A's? I don't race the truck. Its only a day driver.

The 820S has a different thread and is shorter. The 1A is not compatible and should not be used in its place. Use those PH8A's on the other 94% of Fords out there, just keep them away from your L.

No, I,m saying his doesn't. Your '93 should use the FL1A. '94 and '95's use the 820S due to the oil cooler.

Arrow

Fram "sure-grip"
Remember: Put some new oil on the rubber o-ring to ensure a good seal.
