| Guest | Hey All, I'm getting ready to install an S-Trim on my truck and was wondering whether I can use a mechanical fuel pressure gauge or does it have to be electrical to mount inside the cab on the A pillar. Thanks! ------------------ Laurence Weiler 93' #2049 14.69 @ 91.01MPH |

| Guest | If you plan on racing at an NHRA sanctioned track, it will have to be the electric gauge, unless you can find an old mechanical with an isolator. Besides, it's just plain safe to not have fuel in the driver's compartment. ------------------ Keep it safe... John Norris Red '93 # 3395 NLOC # 227 Nassau Bay, Texas |

| Guest | I just went through the process of deciding mechanical or electrical fuel pressure gauge myself. I didn't want to have a gauge mounted outside the truck. I was told by a reputable parts supplier that Autometer had stopped production of the isolators that allowed you to mount the gauge on the inside of the cab. Apparently, the isolators were failing and spewing fuel. Not good. I bit the bullet and spent the $191 for the electrical version. It seems waaayyy overpriced to me for one gauge. These performance parts aren't cheap though! Good luck with your decision. |
