Smile Gainesville Fun Ford

OK I'll start this one off. Who is going to the Gainesville, Florida Fun Ford Weekend? This year its June 8,9,10,2001. Last year was my first time there and it was great!! My truck ran the fastest it ever went at that track. The track is very professional, there is lots of room in the pits, lots of room in staging, and the park is well cared for. For those traveling from out of state the weather is just about right before the scorching July,Aug,Sept temps here in Central, Florida. Hope to see some "L" owners/fans there.
Thank you, Struckby

I'm planning on being there. Hopefully the tranny won't go belly-up this year like last. I ran my best times there also last year. That track really hooks!

Don't know about the Casper vs. 1reddevil rematch but I'll be happy to get Casper in another round of racing... I think the starter went up and tapped on Jerry Green's window and told him to go when we ran each other. He had like a .700 light or something. Hopefully that will teach him not to call my Ranger a "rag-tag-piece-of-$hit" again. I tried to find him after the race so I could apologize for that 'brown stripe' I put down the side of Casper when I went around him at half-track...hehe!!

I am new to this site, but I would like to go to Gainsville since I live in Tampa.

I have a 1994 Lightning (#3112) and have never ran at a track (very busy). Has lots a modifications:

Edelbrock Heads - Tuned and Ported
1" intake spacer
Crane Cam and gold colored roller rockers
Pro-M Mass Air Lightning Kit (has 2nd computer, junction box and converts the EFI to SFI)
MSD-6A
JBA ceramic headers
Reduction pullys
8mm wires
E4OD shift kit
Borla Stainless exaust (has dual catbacks, and rattles alot. Can't find the source)
Steeda Lowering Kit
Advanced Timing

Had some issues with it last year. Changed a air sensor and replaced some intake gaskets that made some difference.
Still does not downshift right all of the time.
Looking to possibly add a chip and remove the extra harness if possible. This is because I can't get real time data from the additional Pro-M EEC IV. I guess it is too old. I am told by Pro-M that it is a 89-9x Mustang computer. But do not know the exact year.

Anyone have a similiar setup that can offer some tuning tips?

Cool

I hope to meet Randy in the semi's again.
That's one fast little ranger. Or if
I could get a bye in the semi's and run him
in the finals would be better. Anyway I can't hardly wait. I hope we have some good weather. yea-haw!!

"In the finals" sounds better to me Rob. That way, both of us will have some gas money for the trip home.

Wink

Oh-yea! But if fuel keeps going up, that "BIG" check will barely cover it!! HA-HA!!
They have no respect for our class. Oh well, I guess i'll have to go out on the street and earn some more "respect" from some on these chevy boys. Street racin' seems to pay good. But it's getting harder to work up a race around here. I'm gonna have to move or get something else to race.
C-ya in Atlanta in a few days!!
