Question Service engine soon light

I am told by scan it could be 1 of 3 things:

1. Coolant level low. This I checked and it's ok.
2. Thermostat defective
3. Engine coolant tempature sensor is bad.

It is running at normal tempatures. Dash gauge only goes up about a 1/4.
Any input would be geat.

Whats the actual error code? I had this issue on my 98 Ranger a while back, it was due to the ratio of water to coolant, I had way too much water and it ran too cool, made the sensor go off, as it expects a certain temp to return from the radiator to the motor. A full flush and a correct 60/40 mix and all was well.
