no reverse

don't drive my truck much but, when I drove it last, lost reverse.
sometimes truck won't go forward either.
checked tranny fluid...it's OK.
checked to see if any fuses were blown.....OK
now I'm just scratching my head

sounds like to me the tranny isnt buildng enough pressure. reverse takes the most main line pressure in a tranny bc it has less clutch packs. have you pulled any codes?

actually reverse has the most clutch plates in whole trans.

does the o/d light flash? any codes?

no flash and no codes.....

had the trans taken out and the rubber washer was melted between drum and bearing plate.
drum was scored and clutches melted to a gooey mess
replaced clutch plates with blue plates (heavy duty)
shifts a little harder 1st to 2nd but works great
at least I can back out of the garage to drive now
